Has anyone used EasyJet speedy boarding?

I would consider this (as in below link) if you could purchase it as a one-off rather than a yearly fee.

http://easyjetplus.com/find-out-more.php

The reason I would consider this is that it is quite important for me that I am able to get seats next to each other as the person I am travelling with is a VERY nervous flyer and I just couldn't leave them alone - it'd be horrific quite frankly lol

Or is it just a case of being first in line? Never flown with them before so a bit worried about this. :(

ive used speedy boarding as we have 2 youngish kids and its just easier to get on first so near the loos!haha. you can usualy choose it as a one off when you make your booking, last time we got it was £12.50 per person I think? Hope that helps. :)

You can buy speedy boarding for each flight you go on, i use it all the time but only purchase it with each flight i book.

Dont travel enough with them to buy a yearly pass.

If you have children under 5 you get to board before the speedy boarders ( they don't like it LOL) I have seen well dressed business men trying to block families getting in front of them, funny when the gate operator calls the families first, one guy nearly exploded with his speedy boarding card.

Otherwise I wouldn't worry too much as you will get seats together or someone will change seats to accomdate you and your nervous friend just have a word with the flight attendant.

Rick Wakeman was ranting about this yesterday. He paid extra and got caught behind the disabled people getting on at the front of the plane whilst all the other passengers were boarding from the back and by the time he got to the top of the steps all the good seats with legroom (he is 6"4) had gone- a complete waste of £15.

not to be pedantic but I understand it to be under 3's get 1st on, not under 5's as we had to pay for my 3 year old this year.

Thanks all. I didn't book direct via EasyJet so I'd have to buy it on the day if I decide to. I am just MASSIVELY concerned about not getting seats together but I guess it's just one of those things. Maybe if it does all go badly I could ask someone to swap with me just for the take-off and landing? I really don't want to inconvenience other people though :S

It was definitely under 5 at Liverpool last year but they were grandchildren and we don't always have them with us when we fly.

My heart bleeds for Rick Wakeman wasting £15 bet he can afford to charter a plane if he is that fussed..rather be uncomfy on a flight for a couple of hours than get preferential boarding over disabled people myself...

I fly with EJ about 6 or 7 times per year, and they almost always (at Luton anyway) allow the disabled, families with children and the speedy boarders on in that order. They lock the strap to prevent anyone else going through the gate until they are all on.

I've just read that if you book in online then you will be called onto the plane earllier anyway. But I didn't book direct with EasyJet, will I still be able to do this?

Is the anxiety of a calibre that you could get a doctor to certify it as a 'disabling condition'?

My mum, who is in her 70's got priority boarding last year when we travelled with Easyjet - and I accompanied her. She wouldn't describe herself as disabled, though she's no spring chicken, it was offered and she took it - she was like the cat that got the cream! (I would add here that she enjoys a bargain, hence her joy, but she does have her share of health difficulties that would easily qualify her as 'priority' had she thought to mention them. She didn't, because in her eyes, there's nothing at all wrong with her.)
