Hi
I am a Virgin Media TV, Phone and Broadband customer - but currently use a Orange PAYG mobile.
Now my children are at the age when they will also be using mobile phones, the wife too, making us 4 mobiles in the household. What I am struggling to see through all the advertising is whether it would make sense financially to change the whole family to Virgin PAYG mobile phones I can see that you get some benefit ringing from a virgin home phone, but I find it hard to make decisions like this with out advice
Just thought I'd check up with some of the wise ones, in case it was a no brainer or maybe even money saving suicide!

Any particular reason for using PAYG? Virgin do some quite good deals on sim only monthly rolling contracts, which come with unlimited virgin to virgin minutes, also virgin landline phones if you are on certain packages now include free calls to virgin mobile numbers!
Might be better off looking at those as they start from £8.50 a month!

Assuming you're likely to be calling each other a lot then perhaps it's worth considering one of the deals which offer cheap (or free) calls to other users on the same network.Stompa0

If your a Media customer you could go onto the simple 8 paygo tariff all calls are 8p texts 8p and 50 mins a month free to virgin Mobiles0 -
Vodafone Family might be of interest http://www.vodafone.co.uk/pay-as-you-go/offers/family inclusive calls between 4 phones £5 a month bolt on.
Also check out www.giffgaff.com
You need to top-up at least £10 every 3 months to receive free giffgaff to giffgaff calls, if you don't other UK rates will apply as above. The free giffgaff to giffgaff calls last for 60 minutes per call, so you need to hang up and re-dial if you want to keep talking.0
