No it's never instant. But O2 usually no more than 2 weeks.
All ISP's are dependent on BT Openreach to do the actual migration, so it makes little difference whom you switch to or from.
But O2 are usually pretty quick at getting the the order logged with Openreach.
If you are referring to the downtime, that is usually no more than an hour.No free lunch, and no free laptop

And are there hidden costs to change ? Sounds a great deal if its nearly cutting BT's rental fee in half.0

Don't you have to be an existing O2 broadband and mobile customer?Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

No, you can take out broadband and add Home Phone to make a bundle, or add Home Phone to an existing broadband account. What you can't do it take Home Phone without broadband.
The mobile discount can be added when taking out the contract, or added at any time after (though obviously the discount won't be applied until you do).No free lunch, and no free laptop

Their saying £5 extra if your not on a o2 mobile.0

Their saying £5 extra if your not on a o2 mobile.
Well it's either a £5 discount if you are, or £5 extra if you're not, depending on what rate you are starting with.
An O2 PAYG mobile will cost you £40 a year with a quarterly top-up, so even if you don't use it, you are paying £40 to save £60-bit of a no-brainer really. No free lunch, and no free laptop

We have o2 broadband at £10 a month, discounted as we also have three mobile phones on their network.
Interested in trying o2 for landline as our BT contract ends shortly. Are there any problems using o2 for landline? Also, can you still use 1471/1571 and caller display, or do these services cost extra?
Thanks for help.0 -
Yes, can you use 18185 and what are the possible extra costs of changing ?0

I was quite irritated with O2 today. Phoned up today to switch my home phone line to them (already have mobile and broadband). I had originally got a great deal on my broadband that lasts until February. They said I would have to change my broadband package to add homephone and it would cost me an extra 5£ a month for decent broadband.
Pah. Can't buy them separately. Most irritating. First 3 months free though.
Cheers,

Caller Display is an extra charged item on o2.0
