In my opinion that is a complex question to put in a poll like that.

E.g. If the option is 5% house price falls vs 10 years of 0.5% interest rates, I chose low interest rates. If the option is 40% house falls or 0.5% for 1 year, then I chose the lower house prices.

They are also not mutually exclusive. So I may not have to chose. My guess at the moment is some small nominal falls accompanied by low interest rates for a long time.
that makes you a bull or a HPI cheerleader by the nutters around here...

I don't think many round here like me in truth. I don't agree that a crash is coming, so I can't play with the bears.

And equally I think the best thing for the prospective FTB to do is keep renting and not buy. So I don't get entry to the bull club either. Bit of a billy no mates really.

But hey ho, we all make our choices, place our bets and in 2 years time we can still argue about it and have nothing agreed.

i wouldn't worry about it Gen - this is the man that thought that 10% YoY HPI was a stagnant market.

he's also the same man that claimed that the Chancellor Of the Exchequer worked in the City because he was responsible for economic policy...

    it's not Devon's fault he's slow - i think it was the school's fault

What concerns me more is our board guide is thanking this made up rubbish!!

Just don't understand why some people had to be quite so obtuse towards a simple question.

quick distract the topic after you accused Generali of being stupid...

you really are an excuse of a man Devon...

you also did say that 10% YoY HPI was stagnation in your eyes and that the Chancellor Exchequer did work in the City...

and how about Real and Notional which you don't seem to understand...

it's not anyone else's fault that you're slow... it's yours

Hamish, I thought you were an expert in supply and demand?

Lower demand, what happens to prices? Mmm?

If you wanted to buy a pair of shoes, say, would you rather buy them for £50 (expensive shoes, no?). But sales assistant says you can get a special credit agreement to buy them, so you don't have to put them on the credit card at a higher rate.

OR would you rather wait a week, and buy them in the sale at 50% off?

Well, I think I can guess most people would think it made sense to wait a week...

    Not rocket science.

And yes, I know the numbers are bigger with buying a house v buying shoes - that's why the decision is even clearer cut.

Rubbish. You don't put off buying milk in the hope it drops price next week. And for the record you have been waiting years and years for your crash. But it's always just round the corner. People like you will NEVER buy we can know this becasue you never bought when times were good so you'll never buy when times are bad. I suggest you leave homeownership to the big boys and get on with paying down your landlords mortgage, he's not a charity.

Those are your twists on what was said, yes.

I said I didn't know why Generali was being so stupid about it. Didn't call him stupid. It's a poll asking specifically for FTB's. We all know what Carol meant by first time buyers, and she didn't mean people who have been out of the market and have emigrated to the other side of the world who would now be seen as a FTBs. She's perfectly aware of what a FTB is, and how you are seen as a FTB if you have been out of the market for over 6 months, and didn't really require the "holier than thou" lecture on a simple poll. I wasn't insulting Generali, just never seen him post as such, in an obvious attempt to wind someone up. He felt the need to respond with an insult, fair play, don't bother me.

She meant people buying their first ever house, as we all know and are aware of.

The whole thread has now ended up in an argument. It didn't have to be that way.

only you could post something like this - the best thing about you being on this forum is that you're consistent. consistently stupid and got see what's right in front of you...

yes and it was because of you and this post. but you won't see it that way will you...
    Has Chucky hacked your account?

It's a simple poll. Why you are being so stupid about it I have no idea.
was there any need for this post??

Not the same thing though is it. There isn't really an alternative to milk. I guess you could eat toast instead. But no direct substitute.

Unlike a house purchase where you can rent instead.
