Hi peeps, have a prob
our TECHWOOD TV has a black line running down screen suddenly appear, it has fallen outside of MORRISONS returns policy, im having no joy with the only phone number i have for TECHWOOD. Surely 18months use for a NEW TV is not reasonable. What can i do? I think nxt time would be to buy from a well known easily accesible company (doh!) Have Morrisons not got a duty to help the customer?
thanks for reading any suggestions much apreciated

You should write to/email Morrisons, after reading up on the Sale of Goods Act.
In short, you may be able to get a 'remedy' (either repair/replacement/partial refund) from Morrisons, providing you can prove that the fault was inherent to the TV - i.e. caused by parts that failed prematurely, or poor workmanship, and not down to your use or misuse, or general wear & tear.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

you bought it from Morrisons, what have they said when you contacted them? It's fairly well documented on here how others have challenged the seller, when items have not lasted as expected, from memory tesco was recently challenged with a similar problem on a tv and the customer got a satisfactory result....
so what have Morrisons actually said when you spoke to them?I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

:(I've emailed Morrisons HO not sure I'll get any joy because i have no receipt (and I file everything its vanished:eek:) I cant find anything about the manufacturer either anywhere online, its baffling that noone is responsible!? and I'm worried about being fobbed off by Morrisons which is why I havent rang yet!

Techwood TV's are essentially re-branded LG's. They are made by Vestel, which is a Turkish company.
Vestel's electrical products are sold under a variety of brand names including Alba, Bush, Digihome, Goodmans, Hitachi, Sharp and Technika.0 -
The shop is responsible but you may have to prove it has an inherent fault you may also need prove of purchase it doesn't mean a receipt, a credit card statement may do if you have one:(its baffling that noone is responsible!? and I'm worried about being fobbed off by Morrisons which is why I havent rang yet!
