Post office broadband - really really bad service

is anyone else exeriencing problems with Post Office broadband?

i am finding it impossible to contact customer support, i have telephoned every evening for 4 days, put on hold for 15-20 minutes, finally the call is answered only to be told that they can't help but will request a call back. no call back ever materialises.

i can't believe that 9.15 on a thursday evening is a period when they would be experiencing 'unusually high call volumes' unless their service is so poor that every single customer is on the phone comlaining at once.

i am so frustrated!! how can i make them help me??

  • You are not alone.

I have had their broadband service since May 2010 and it has never given me interrupted service in all that time - almost eighteen months now.

The Post Office simply refuse to call you back. If they say they are going to, they don't. I am waiting now since such a promise four days ago to tell me what they are doing to fix my problems, bear in mind this is eighteen months down the line and I have now made almost 100 calls to them over the period. I don't have PO Homephone, so have been paying for the 0845 calls.

Some time ago, and after well over a year of me calling them, a member of their staff let slip that they do have a freephone number which is not advertised - this is 0800 092 0514 ( office hours)- option 3 for Broadband queries. Only of use if you are not on PO Homephone, as their recorded messages never fail to remind you, you can call them free if you rent your line from them.

For out of hours calls, the 0845 600 3210 number usually does get answered, but as for anything other than recording what you are saying, there is almost without fail any action on their part that tells you they are dealing with the content of any complaints.

I wish I could advise you more, but every attempt I have made to 'escalate' (their terminology) this complaint proves fruitless.

They quite simply the worst customer service operation you could ever have the misfortune to be landed with.

OFCOM are their regulator but you need time and an an iron will to carry this process through to any beneficial conclusion.
