Slightly off the topic, does anyone know if any other cash machines are dispensing £5 notes? It is better for my budgeting if I can withdraw a £5 note as it means less change to spend on rubbish!!!

The mysterious disappearance of £5 notes was due to an EU agenda. Their reintroduction is one of those rare examples of successful people power.

    National press, passim.

Part of the phased introduction of the Euro. Standardisation of coinage, vending machines etcetera.

I've assumed nothing, I simply asked you to provide evidence, all you've done is said "National Press" as if somehow the UK papers are a reliable source of truth about the EU which they're not in any way, shape or form

The reason banks are/were reticent to dispense £5 notes is because it requires additional effort to add the extra tray and also means it will need to be refilled more frequently, it's an administrative issue, it has absolutely bog all to do with legislation or any of that nonsense, if a bank wanted, it could build an ATM that dispensed coins and £50 notes and nobody would stand in the way of that.

The CDM machines in Natwest/RBS branches have the ability to dispense coins if they will ever introduce it is another question though.
