wits end
so last night someone smashed my dads wing mirrors at 4 30am! now, we live in quite a quiet suburban street , however this has happened before, but to no one else in the avenue. we have a large japanese import car that was expensive for us but what seems likethe same circle of boys has been targetting it for the past couple of years. my dad had even managed t track down one of the boys mothers and speak to them but it was obviously a case of pot kettle, the police arent doing anything either. its cost a ortune to get them and the other bits and bobs that have been damaged as they to need to be imported from asia. anyway, i needed a rant to get it out of my system

I recently had someone vandalise one of my tyres, so I reported it to the police who were very helpful. They even offered cctv if it persisted so why not give them a try?0

we have cctv already and have been told to keep a log book, but obviously our case isnt as critical to them ,thanks for your reply0

I'd turn off the CCTV and resort to baseball bat justice.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Keeping a rare car on a public road or even a private drive is always going to be a risk. If it's happened before it will probably happen again. So?, move house, change cars to something more innoculousn or employ the heavy gang if you know the purpetrators.
I know that sounds flipant but to be brutally honest other measures just aren't going to work, sorry.
:( I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
if money was no option then that would probably happen 0 -
Bit off topic, but am I just lucky in my dealings with the police? Back home in Cumbria they've always been very helpful, but that is Cumbria and they've nothing better to do. Recently moved to Manchester, and I've had to call the police twice this week. Once about antisocial behaviour/drinking in a no drink zone - they were there within about 10 mins, unfortunately the purpetrators had disappeared but over the next couple of days I had 2 calls following it up and asking if I was ok (even though I wasn't really affected/injured or anything!), the second time there were some dodgy looking blokes with an old van going through skips and walking up my driveway (I think looking for scrap) at 11PM and again they were there within minutes.
Everyone always says 'Oh I reported it to the police but they weren't interested.' I have found completely to the contrary.
OP have you told the police who the perpetrators are?0 -

Its tempting to dish out your own justice but just remember they know where yo ulive and its not worth the potential repurcussions.Pester the police enough and they will be forced to act, even if its just to get you off their backs.0

i agree , my dad was just being sarcastic, the police came round to follow up the phonecall, hopefully they will help, but still got to fork out for to wingmirrors, that have to be ordered then delivered which could take a few weeks, hmm i really cant understand why people do this, a neighbour at the end of the road has a similar model and their car has been occasionaly scratched etc but nothing as severe as ours, i mean i know the car stands out but it doesnt give anyone the right to destroy and vandalise it !!0
