Back Up for Desire or Android 2.2?

Had a look around at it seems that there is varied opinion on back up apps available for Desire on Android 2.2. Any opinions here at all?

Has anyone backed up and was it succesful?

    Just spoken to HTC and they area developing App for release in next month or so.

    Anyone used any on market?

    Titanium Backup via the apps market/appbrain .
    But it does require your phone to be ROOTED which essential means you have administrator rights .
    A few other similiar apps may be available if you search but thats the one that power users get .

    I use 'SMS Backup & Restore' to keep my text messages in a MySQL database.

    Everything else is backed up nightly by SpriteBackup.
