Not sure what your question is but his advice was sound
If somones in a bad area for reception (Ie, no matter what you do your going to have a bad signal), then spending money on a new aerial (or having it reset or whatever) is pointless

I cant say for sure. But I took what almillar said as a basic upgrade.
ie - IF the aerial requires replacing then do so. Though it may just need readjusting, rewiring or whatever.:idea:0 -
OP wants Freeview, and aerial is too weak, so subject to not being in a blackspot, just upgrade the aerial now - was the point of my post, as Rik has understood.0
