Sat/Sun 2nd/3rd October - What small DFW things will you be doing today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
morning everyone  so great to see the new posters on the thread (as well as the regulars)! so it the weekend
but I'm working today
, as always I have loads to do so its not too bad...
Off to stay with my bezzie tonight in London :j, we're going out tonight & then meeting with her folks for a meal tomorrow & then going to an art exhibition :T She is notoriously bad with money & I'm going up to help her make a start with being in control of her money & convince her parents she can have the inheritance they are giving her & her brother - I wish me luck! I just hope that her cavalier attitude to money does not infect me as it usually does & I do not spend more than I can afford... (I spent £100 last time I went to see her for a weekend )
Anyway! So not much DFW things going on this weekend, but I will make a plan anyway:
oh is taking me out for a meal after we've showered after the run :T

Morning All
Gloriously hot and sunny here already, we've just had our morning cuppa in the garden
:D
I didn't post yesterday - but I had a great day
Went to the orphanage and we're making plans to up the profile and raise funds big time with an expansion programme  I'm SO excited and we've realised how much I've been missing work or a role or a project. I've not been cut out for retirement
In the evening we planned to out for a meal but instead I cooked so it became a NSD
So today I have/will- checked banking - no surprises
- buy beer and plastic boxes where I've discovered they are the cheapest -these are not linked :rotfl:
- make a worm farm with the boxes for compost

- go to the bottle bank with last weeks beer bottles
- theatre tonight - we love going so a real treat
:D - nice gentle day with OH, trying to persuade him NOT to spend  And we'll enjoy the sunshine
Have a great day everybody :A0 -
make a worm farm with the boxes for compost

This is something I have thought about doing, as I have an allotment, but have no clue how to start it.
Just in off night-shift.
Charged phone at work
Brought 4 pint carton of milk home ( I did ask, as we had lots)
Leaving a bits and bobs list for DH to get at the shops, while I am in bed, with only enough money to buy whats on list, so he can not overspend
Do I need this or just want it.

Morning everyone! Sounds like people have plans for today/tonight - about time we had some fun!
Its our wedding anniversary this weekend (the first one) so we're going out tonight for dinner and boozing! OH has announced that he's paying for the meal so even better.
Before that though I have loads to do....- Have already walked dog
- Go to Boots to print out a photo to put in a frame for OH for anniversary and buy card (not done yet - its tomorrow!)
- Do food shopping with a list
- Get cash out
- Hoover and dust whole house
- Do one load of washing and dry naturally
- Have checked banks
- Checked surveys - need to do a few too
- Go out tonight
- Maybe write a few lessons
- Bit of marking?
- Make sure OH goes to butchers
Hope everyone has a good day!0 -

Hi all, my plans for this weekend are -
- Nipped to town & got a free parking space as it was early
bought a friends Xmas pressie - a piggy money box you smash open with a hammer when it's full. Was only £2.99 from Hawkins Bazaar - bargain! Saw it on a thread on this site somewhere.
- Been to pick up 2 pairs of jeans that had to have zips replaced. Saves getting rid and having to buy new ones and they are pairs I like to wear. One dry cleaner chain wanted £11.50 each so took it to a place my friend told me about instead and they did it for £8 each
- Daily clicks/scratchy
- Going shopping later, when supermarket is closing and reducing stuff
shop will mostly be basics stuff and meats for slow cooker. Going to buy some basics brand mince aswell - last week I split it in half and made a shepherd's pie with half and a chilli with the other half. Got 6 portions in all!
Shop shouldn't be too dear as I have p!necone vouchers aswell
- Stay in with a film tonight.
- Bake some cakes tomorrow. Been doing this a bit more recently to save keep buying snacks for work lunch.
- Make lamb casserole in slow cooker. Got it on reduced shelf the other week and froze it
- Washing done and out on line to dry.
Think that's it. Have a good weekend all#39 - Save £12k in 20250 -
This weekend is going to be a productive one hopefully (for a change :rotfl:)
I've got 2 loads out on the line. Its supposed to rain at about 5 so it should be dry by then.
Meals from plan (tho I'm out tonight).
Roast chicken tomorrow, legs for dinner and save breasts for curry on Monday and pie on Tuesday.
Only take cash tonight, leave cards at home
Lots of housework to do, the place seems filthy , have made a start with bathroom.
Pull up stair carpet, examine condition of floorboards, decide whether to recarpet or paint/varnish.0
