Buying a new superking mattress help?

Hi,
My Ikea superking size mattress is 7 years old now and the springs are starting to bulge through so I need to buy a mattress but it's very confusing. Ideally I don't want to spend more than £250 as i'm on a tight budget at the moment.
I don't want another Ikea mattress because my last one zipped together and so dipped in the middle.
The best I have found so far is a sleepeezee concept 1200 from sleepingsolutions.co.uk it's £319 but you can get 20% cashback from quidco so it will work out about £255. The only prob is I can't find any reviews for the mattress.
I want a medium pocket sprung mattress suitable for a slatted bed base.
I have seen posts saying to go with independent dealers but tbh I have been googling for mattressess all day and I can't seem to find any.
Has anyone got any recommendations or advice??

Most of the dealers would be independent on google. It's independent manufacturers you should be looking for.0 -
Hi yes sorry thats what I meant independent manufacturers most of the sites I have found are the usual brand names. I found a couple of sites that had independent makes but when I searched for a pocket sprung in superking size they were coming up at £400 plus. I'm a bit lost.0

I've been searching recently too, I found one this morning on mattressman website, it's due to be delivered tomorrow, so I can't comment on service/etc.
I'm not allowed to post links yet, but if you go to the website and scroll down a bit there is a button to go to their 'Seconds' page, theres a few on there, and the clearance button above.
Like I said I can't comment on the website nor do I know alot about mattresses, but I know it's hard to find a decent mattress cheap!

Mattressman are cheaper than the big retailers, but they are far from being the cheapest. Also they don't have a return policy that lets you unpack and try out the mattress (some do).0 -
Sleepingsolutions lets you try them for 7 days so thats quite good - But I have found an online dealer selling independent brands and found one called a Rennes Pocket 1000 Superking but it's £315 looks good though - so I need to decide between the sleepeezee one for £255 or spending a bit more??
Mattress buying is difficult!0 -

No they don't, they just comply with distance selling regs. This comes from their returns policy:
"Mattresses, bed bases & bedding can only be returned if they are unopened. Mattresses which have been opened and slept on cannot be returned. If you wish to test a mattress please keep it wrapped until you are sure you want to keep it. Bed frames can not be returned if they have been assembled."But I have found an online dealer selling independent brands and found one called a Rennes Pocket 1000 Superking but it's £315 looks good though - so I need to decide between the sleepeezee one for £255 or spending a bit more??

I wouldn't buy a Sleepeezee, as their quality isn't brilliant. As for the Rennes, it is an entry level pocket sprung mattress. So you might be better off with a top en open coil sprung one.0 -
are open coil ones ok to use with a slatted bed base?
Why is buying a mattress so complicated?0 -
I feel like i'm back at square one lol0
