NatWest e-savings problems

We've been with NatWest for 40 yrs & today tried to open a e-savings account with them(as recc. by MSE!). Every time we apply on-line(it has to be on-line) our application is declined:-
"Unfortunately we are unable to progress your application at this time. Having carried out the standard checks described in the ‘Your Personal Data’ section, we are sorry to inform you following these checks you do not meet the eligibility criteria for this account"
NatWest staff are as mystified as we are, but can't help as "it's all done on-line" they say..........
Our a/c is in good health with no problems/outstanding issues.
Any ideas please,
bumperman

You don't have to accept their "computer says nah" answer. You can complain and ask for a manual referral. It may be that some of your info has been keyed in wrongly, meaning they cannot verify your identity. Or that you have a CIFAS marker on your credit file, rightly or wrongly.
Of course if you get no joy, you are free to take your money elsewhere! My Debt Free Diary I owe:
