  • This week they had a Silent Night memory foam mattress topper for £59 + £4.99 p&p. They claim the king size was £186.

I did a little research... Tesco Direct £70 was a good start, and I certainly didn't find anyone selling for more than about £120. Then Argos for £34.99 was a winner!!! Exactly the same model silent night impress memory foam topper, king size.

    Thanks Argos! No thanks Groupon!
  • Why do people waste time with the groupon restaurant deals? You are better of getting a tastecard. There is a better choice and only have to book an hour before you want to eat but I never do just phone 10 min before.
    Lets not use quidco

I bought a deal for 6 IPL sessions at £99 - had no problem although had to wait about two weeks for my first appointment.

I got 2 groupon vouchers for my birthday. One a spa day with afternoon tea at a Hilton in Tewkbury and the other, a Cancun trip away for 4 nights with up to 4 other people. The spa day was nice, had a body scrub and massage, afternoon tea was cuppa with a few mini buns and biscuits ( I ate them all!) The Mexico trip-when we called the company, they said therewhere a lot of things that Groupon got wrong, for a start they advertised the wrong hotel, expiry date was wrong, lead passenger had to be over 30 (no mention of that) plus other things. Am waiting to hear back from the company if my dates are going to be accepted. It seems as though the company are rushed off there feet and making silly mistakes, but are getting a lot of things right also...the best thing that they can do is to ensure customer relations are paramount, and sort out things efficiently and properly if mistakes are made. They will then have a loyal customer base and cannot go wrong in my opinion.

I'm just having my first experience with Groupon, and so far it is 100% BAD !!

A few weeks ago I spotted a deal for a robotic vacuum cleaner at £179.00. Looked like fun and would save time, so I clicked on the button and bought the voucher... After researching the product and the suppliers site, I decided it wasn't for me, so as per Groupons terms and condition emailed to request a refund. I hadn't placed an order or used the voucher...

I had an automated response with a ticket no asking me to be patient...

That was all over 2 weeks ago now, and no response or acknowledgement of any kind.

I have emailed at least 5 times now, including the 'special' 'priority' address for mse users.

I can only speak from experience, and my experience is that Groupons customer 'service' STINKS !!

I can't believe a big company like Groupon could be so useless, especially to a first time customer.... do they really think I will come back and recommend it to friends ??

I gather I'm not the only one having problems with 'Customer Non-service', but does anyone know how much longer I will have to wait ??
  • I paid £22 for a full head of highlights, cut, treatment and blow dry and it was great!

Perfect colour, and I could book in when I wanted no problem.
  • I have only bought one deal so far, £60 worth of meat from a local butcher for £24. Worth every penny.

  • Having got bored with emailing Groupon about my refund, and not being able to raise a chargeback with my bank for 30 days I decided (having an hour or two to kill) to ring them and demand some service....

Surprise, surprise.... an automated message telling me their 'phone system' is out of order for 'the time being'...

So emails are not being answered, and they have no phone service, but oddly their promotional emails are still getting out
How long till they disappear to South America with all our cash ??

My advice to all out there is, if you have paid demand a refund, if you haven't then DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT !!
And if you are a reputable company, STAY AWAY. Groupon will drag your name down through the mire with theirs...

This company is either totally incompetent, or a bunch of SCAMMERS !!

Either way, STAY CLEAR OF GROUPON !!

I think Groupon is a huge money making machine (money for Groupon that is), that will eventually implode. Groupon is now advertising discounts of more than 80 percent off products. When users purchase a product deal, they receive a code to enter into the manufacturer’s website for a discount on their online order.

Netimperative writes: "At launch, Groupon’s 'National Deals' feature has offered mattresses from UK-Bedding, teeth-whitening kits from Whitening Professionals and customized photo albums from Albelli. In each case, Groupon has sold more than 10,000 items."

What a great scam, ruthless retailers factor the discounts into their prices, Groupon promotes and takes a cut and consumers are paying for time limited vouchers, some of which will never be cashed in...
