I've used vouchers for small, local hair salons and beauty salons fine, no problems booking etc. Also fine at a local pub.

Some of the offers are totally irrelevant to me or don't look like great deals really, but if you cherry pick the ones that work for you it can be great.
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)
  • I bought the deal for two nights in one of 1600 hotels around europe but the restrictions on dates and the huge cumpulsory food bills has put me off. The better holtels all seem to want a minimum of two nights and when you add on the food bill is actually more than booking direct. As per the refund terms on their site I have been trying to get a refund for about a week now but after an email a day and several hours on hold I have had to resort to my bank to get a refund.

Is this the norm for others - is there a "special" number they answer or email that they will respond to?

Slurp customer services are amazing. You can get straight through. Today, I emailed them my mobile number and they called me back in about a minute!

Just remember that you cannot use your "cork points" (Slurp rewards) if there is a sale item in your basket bacuse "you cannot claim two discounts on the same items(s)", which seems fair enough - unless, like me, you always buy sale items!

There are currently some good clearance deals on small quantities of international beers.

Any ideas what to do about this?
Bought the mrs a beauty management voucher and she just rang up to book in and they told her that they are fully booked until the vouchers expire thereby she cannot use it, any ideas who i contact or what i need to do to get my money back?

Would be interested to know how you got on with this.

here is a copy of a post of mine on another thread:

Purchased a voucher for a local pub/restaurant in April. Tried to book in June, lady asked straight away if it was a groupon voucher and then said they were fully booked & very busy as they had sold so many. Said to call back in a few weeks when rush had died down. I did - same response.

Called again today as voucher runs out this weekend. Again told they were fully booked, lady actually said they couldn't honour all the vouchers due to high demand & I should contact Groupon for a refund. Called Groupon. Got through after 15 mins on hold only to be told it is my fault as the voucher is about to expire so of course the restaurant cannot be expected to honour it!!!
Had actually tried at several points to redeem the voucher and lady herself told me they had been overwhelmed by the amount of people using them and that they only receive half the voucher cost from groupon etc - how is that my fault?
Despite not being able to fulfill their side of the contract will only offer me credits to my groupon account but currently refusing to refund me via paypal. Waiting for a line manager to call me back but not holding my breath...

Have recommended Groupon to lots of people but won't be in future!
  • I've had no issues so far. I've bought several vouchers, for a variety of things:

1 hotel stay in York - lovely
1 meal at Italian restaurant in York - lovely again.
1 set of greetings cards (later found out they retail at around £2 per card, so big saving) - fab
1 deal at greyhound races (never been, so thought I'd try it) - good, enjoyed the night.
1 hotel stay in Hull - was booked no problem, but not til October, so can't comment yet....

Not had any issues - like other posts say, you just need to research carefully first and cherry pick....

Have to say, I am a little disappointed with Groupon.

Bought the laser teeth whitening (Belfast) a few days ago and Groupon emailed telling me that I have to book an appointment online, however there were no slots available online, I finally got through (by email) to someone who told me there would be a slot available in NOVEMBER. Unfortunately, I won't even be in Belfast in November!! Very annoying

My mum also bought a deal for a stay in a hotel in Donegal but I don't think she was wearing her glasses because the dates are restricted and don't suit her at all.

Not really sure what to do, looks like a lot of hassle to get a refund (but we both want the offers we bought!)

On top of it all, I feel rather guilty knowing how much commission groupon take from the businesses - if I see a deal in future I will definitly be phoning them personally to try and redeem the offer and make sure groupon can't get their grubby hands on the money.

Thanks for the great advice to whoever posted that! :T lol
  • WHAT DO I DO NOW

Hi, I bought a Swing Ball at a great price of £14 on August 4th, surprisingly my money was debited immediately, now its September 4th and still no swing ball, after endless emails and phone calls of which no one has responded, what the hell am I suppose to do now? Shall I just forget it and just except that I will not see the product and lose £14 or do I still try and get in touch and drive myself insane
