I've put out my C17 - in the new territory assigned to be after the last debacle - only to be told by several people that Avon is done to death around here!' Apparently there is a woman who used to have my area but stopped canvassing the whole (very long) road. I managed to get her number from one of the packages she left in a porch and left a message for her to call me so that I can establish which addresses she has so that i don't waste any more time. She's not called me back yet.
Am I being a bit cheeky? or sensible?0 -

I've gained several new customers this time, from territory I hadn't covered last time, and also people who didn't order the first time, now deciding to order. I still have more territory I haven't covered yet!
Really enjoying it. It doesn't feel like work, but more of a hobby!
I've just invested in a sort of shopping trolley. It is very stylish though, and was £20, so not too pricey. I thought it would be great for taking out brochures, and also delivering orders, now that I have more customers to get around!
I use a solid black shopping trolley with nice rubber wheels and it's amazing. i wouldn't be without it for avon stuff! i use it for personal shopping also. and i'm only 290 -

Thanks! That makes me feel better! My teenage daughter was horrified when I said I was going to buy a trolley and said "they're for old people"! When she saw how trendy looking it is though, she's now offering to pull it for me when we go out delivering!

I don't think you're being cheeky at all! It must be very frustrating to keep running into these territory problems. I haven't yet, but am bracing myself as I'll soon be canvassing a new road, which my SL isn't 100% sure if it's mine, so that should be fun!
Hope you get sorted out!0 -
I think the best person to judge whether an area's been "done to death" is us, the reps. Okay, if someone's getting a brochure from a different person every month, they're right. But I had 2 customers of another rep strongly imply that the whole street was completely covered and I wouldn't have much luck. I spoke to about 10 other people on the street and none said someone already did it, and the 2 people who I'm going to continue to drop to are definitely interested and haven't seen one before (and they've lived there for years). If a rep has focused on customers and not re-canvassed, as far as the rest of the street is concerned Avon isn't in the area.
As long as the street's officially yours, I don't see anything cheeky in asking. Maybe the other rep is worried that you want her customer list so you can target those homes yourself? Not saying you would, but she might be thinking that way. Only other option is to door-knock and hear from people face-to-face that they don't get a book, but would like one. You could do flyers to save on books with a note saying "if you already have a rep, please stay with them" so you don't annoy the other rep.
Judging by the potential customers on the street I was just talking about, I'm suspecting the street was "de-allocated". I've wheedled it down from 30 to 2 in just 2 campaigns!I used to have my Avon turnover (sales) here. They've been removed because it's not appropriate to talk about those kinds of sales as if they're realistic for a new Rep to aim for.I signed up at the right time, right place, and was very lucky.

Just a note ref invoices, none of my boxes this time had "Invoice Enclosed" stamped on the side!! (Even OH checked for me in case I had missed it!). So had to delve through them all to find it ...
Bagged up yesterday ready to deliver on Weds / Thursday this week. This was probably the first campaign since I started when the whole thing has just stressed me out - really not enjoyed it this time, grr. Think there's just too much going on (been down south with work a couple of times and going again tomorrow) - I am not good when my routine is disrupted!!0 -
I have two questions:
How would I go about quitting Avon and then do I need to inform the tax office?
Thanks0
