  • Not quite all the territory yet, though most of it. I hope to canvass the whole lot this campaign, half on C17 and half on C18. Just got in from work and am popping back out in a bit to do another collection and drop. Good the stamp came that quickly, I can't wait to get mine! It is driving me nuts writing my name and mobile number 100's of times! How are things going with your territory?

Hah, yes i was quick to catch onto that one. ;) The first lot of order forms i did i used labels printed off the computer but its far easier having a stamp!

The territory is not too bad thanks! Cant remember if i told you that a couple of my original roads already had a rep so i asked ASM for more territory - she gave me an extra 160 houses. I canvassed 4 of these roads last campaign - two of them were mainly elderly people who requested not to have a book again, the other two were good and i got about 6 new customers from them. I have one road left to canvass this campaign which has about 45 houses on it so fingers crossed i'll get a few customers from there. I have about 15 regular ordering territory customers so far which is pretty good, and 5 f&f.
I did run a 'spend over £20 and receive a free gift' offer over c17, 18 and 1 but only 2 have taken it up so far.

Good luck with your canvassing. Are you including an introductory letter? do you knock or just leave the book?
    :)

  • I don't know where you lot your energy from :( I am supposed to have been canvassing some new territory I have been given but with working full-time and having a Uni essay to get in over the past weekend I simply haven't had the time.
And now more than ever I could do with the extra income as my washing machine decided to belch out smoke last night so I have no way of washing mine and my DD clothes. Not a good day, I shall have to go back to handwashing, can't afford to get a new one or a reconditioned one at present......oh well rant over, feel better now
  • Cheltenhamgal - Not good. Dont know how I would cope without a washing machine. Have you not got any family local whose machine you could use for a bit? I must admit I have no energy at the more which is why I have only canvessed a bit of my new territory. Had blood tests come back today to say I have low Iron levels (hence being sooo tired all the time) so Im back on iron tabs.

oh crikey! its awful when things like this come up - especially towards xmas. its always our car - as soon as something has been paid off and i'm thinking 'oh good, i can start putting money aside for x now', something goes wrong with the car. its so annoying.
i totally know what you mean about trying to fit it all in too. i work full time (which often includes evenings and saturdays), and every weekend we have my step-son to stay and i have to catch up with all the house work (because OH doesnt do any of it). Luckily, he is 5, and at the age where he will do anything to help. so he comes around with me delivering and collecting books and taking orders around. it is a really good ice breaker as well when there is a customer with children and they talk to each other. My cat even followed us around with our deliveries on sunday meowing her head off which was slightly embarrassing. :o It is all worth it though and i am enjoying it so far. dont know if i'll be saying the same when it starts snowing....

just keep your chin up and if theres anything you need a hand with ASK. :)

LOL from experience last year, you need a waterproof zip up jacket with a hood, flat boots with big grips, and a hardened attitude.

And you'll still fall over no matter how hard you try not to!

I tried to look on it as providing a source of amusement to everyone, and hoped they'd be impressed with my tenacity and would order!!

LOL. did it pay off? looks like your figures slumped after xmas but i guess thats to be expected anyway regardless of the weather. Having said this we normally get snow around feb/march now. For 3 years running i have had snow on my birthday on 8th feb!! it did linger a long time tho last year - dec to feb if i recall correctly! cant afford to miss that many campaigns so i best get the snow plough out!! :rotfl:

Not sure if it paid off ... I think this year I might have more luck as people are used to seeing me now.

Yes, I'm expecting sales to drop by more than half over C1 & C2 :(, and even that might be a tad optimistic. Especially as these are short 2 week campaigns.

Which reminds me I must check my campaign dates!!!!

i know some people give their customers c1 & 2 together - do you do this or do you run them separately? my only concern about giving them together is that one of them will have a lot of products cheaper?

Thats amazing! How do you get such high orders? Have you been doing avon long? do you have a big customer base? do you do avon full time? and do you hold parties?

sorry for all the questions but i aspire to reach figures like yours! :T

Hi i've slowly built up my customer base over the last 9 campaigns since i started. I'm now upto about 125 customers. I only do avon part time at the moment but have just signed up as a sales leader so will be doing a few more hours. I have only done 1 party since i started but have another 2 booked in for next week. My advice just keep canvasing the roads you are given till they say they dont want a book. Word of mouth soon gets round that your reliable and more people order.

I miss out campaign 2 and just order brochures and bags in campaign 3. By the time they get campaign 4 my customers are ready to order again. I usually get a large order then.
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.
