Citroen C8 anyone got anything good to say about them?

I have always found that anything that is made in France, whether it be a TV or a car has always been unreliable.
The worst car ever was my C5 which had 18 different warranty claims in 3 years. After the warranty run out I had to sell the car as it was still going wrong every few weeks.0 -

Anyway, the OP needs 8 seats, not 7, so probably no good for him.
I'd buy the Seat Alhambra then. Same car as the VW and a lot cheaper and still available from Seat dealers. This is MSE.
The Sharan/Alhambra is being replaced by a new model that is significantly larger than the old model and it might be worth hanging on for one if buying new.The man without a signature.0 -
We have one on a 55 plate, bought from new. I'm not sure what model though so I'll find out and add it to my post.
Lovely car, no problems at all. Very versatile as you can take all the seats out apart from front two and use it as a van, we've had beds and furniture in it. fairly economical for the size and servicing and repairs via the main dealer are not unreasonable.

Having done some further research I've come across a number of owners of its predecessor the Synergie (usually complaining that the C8 is much worse than the car it replaced).
So we've decided to look for a late model eight seater Synergie which has all the seats, better fuel economy and none of the questionable electrics.
Best of all it has an engine I can do basic repairs on without needing a degree in electronics and hundreds of pounds of diagnostic equipment!
It does pain me to get a car which is eight or nine years old, but the reputation of the Synergie is pretty bulletproof. I suspect that there will be very few C8's remaining in a roadworthy condition in eight or nine years time...

Don't forget the old shape Fiat Ulysee, 8 seats, early ones had the old 1.9 XUD engine, the later JTD engined ones looked better but weren't as reliable.
Addison Lee found the early ones to be better, but not as reliable as the Sharon/Galaxy/Alhambra.
I wasn't aware that the rear seats in any Galaxy folded folded into the floor though Sarah, though I would have to ask my sister as she has a new shape. The old ones just had five individual seats in the back.0 -

Yes, our old Galaxy did, but when we wer last car shopping, we looked at the Galaxy, but didn't like the flimsy rear seats in the new ones.0 -
The older Fiat had a bench seat for the second row, which you could fold and roll forward, but was almost impossible to remove without a crane.
A foldaway set of rear seats are going to have issues with the physical size of the seats I suppose as they have to fit into a hole in the floor.
My mate and I imported a few Honda Oddysey, basically a JDM version of I think a Shuttle. It had a third row of seats that fold into the floor, really comfy proper sized seats aswell. And this was from 1994 onwards.
The boot is very well proportioned with the seats in use, but they have the disadvantage of being petrol only, so they are a bit juicy, I didn't mention the Honda before as they are rare, but almost stupidly reliable, double wishbone front suspension, super smooth autobox, and the jap ones have amazing AirCon.
A good one can be had for a couple of grand. So long as the OP doesn't do too many miles then they are a good bet.0
