Citroen C8 anyone got anything good to say about them?
I'm in the market for an eight seater and was tempted by the Citroen C8, but have subsequently been put off by a number of bad reviews. The majority of the worst reviews appear to be for the original 2003 model, with a few bad reviews for the 2004 and virtually no reviews for the 2005 (which is what we're looking at).
Have they ironed out the bugs or is this still one to avoid?
Regards,
Jason.

I've got one - a 2.2D. A 2005 (55) model. I love it. It's got tons more room than the Galaxy and Espace that we had before. And there's room for a big shop in the boot with all the seats up, too. Obviously, it's not going to win any style awards, but practically, we've found it to be great.0

That's strange, these guys compared its boot space to a Smart roadster.

I think in a seats up competition my Vectra would win hands downIn fact I know it would
Seats down though I can't shut the boot on anything more than 6ft longcouldn't borrow my mates 7ft ladder and had to go buy a 6ft one instead

With 7 people in your Vectra?
I doubt that a Vectra would have more boot room than a C8 with only 5 of its seats in.0 -
I can seat just 5, but yes I have more boot room with all the seats up.... Im totally certain
Seats up I have 500 litres of boot space (530 with parcel shelf removed) compared to the C8's 480(official figure's)
So imagine the 10 extra 2 litre bottle's of Coke I could buy at 2 for 1 :rotfl:
Of course with all the seats down the Vectra maybe doubles up it's boot space, where the C8 probably triples :rotfl:“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

How long have you had it for? The only good reviews I can find are for people who haven't owned them for very long.

You want a people carrier then get a Ford Galaxy, VW Sharon or Seat Alhambra in Tdi flavour.
The new Galaxy is even better, if you need extra stroage then fit a roof box.
The largest minicab firm in London, 3000 vehicles has had VW Sharons for years, all TDi Auto, and for the last 18 months has started to replace them with new shape Galaxy Tdi Autos.
The old ones are sold on by the company, Addison Lee, for between £6 and £7k, they are mostly just over 3 years old and are almost all sold to other minicab drivers working for smaller companies.
I have known people with Espaces, unreliable and expensive to fix. Voyagers, expensive to service and fix but fairly reliable. Citroen C8/Peugeot 807/Fiat Ulysee, remember they are closely related, not the worst but Addison Lee had Ulysee' for a few years but the Autobox was made of cheese, manuals where better. They were OK but the run thousands of MPVs and they made the decision to go to VW then Ford, they know more about them than anybody, they do all their own repairs and servicing. Follow their lead and go for a Galaxy/Sharon/Alhambra.0 -
I'd buy the Sharan out of those 3. If I were to be using the rear seats full time, I wouldn't be happy with the flimsy fold-away seats in the Galaxy. I think the Sharan still has the full-size sturdy seats, doesn't it?
Anyway, the OP needs 8 seats, not 7, so probably no good for him.0 -
Yes we need 8 seats - 3 kids with number 4 on the way, plus myself and wifey and we also regularly need to transport my parents - hence the need to upgrade from current 7 seater before D day in March.0
