  • Still off here too (southern Scotland) - I have struggled the past couple of days as temp in living room has been down to 14 deg :( (got down to 7 deg outside night before last).

Usually I go and do some housework when I get really cold but had an op last week and not allowed to weight bear on my leg for 2 weeks:eek: so not an option just now.

Have had my scarf on today - amazing how much it warmed me up:)

We have had the heating on for an hour this evening as it had a noticeable nip in the interior temperature - Northants village and a detached house so maybe that might explain it. There was a very noticeable good morning dew this last two days!

  • Its lovely and sunny here today on the north east coast and even though we're right on the sea front its quite mild outside.
Washing blowing gently on the line as we speak.
Getting a bit chilly of an evening but nothing a cosy throw does'nt suffice.
Anyway I hate the central heating causes no end of problems.

Very chilly here this morning - I was sooooooooo tempted to pop the heating on for half hour to take the chill off but then realised I didn't have socks on, and could put an extra layer on...

I am not holding out putting the heating on until any particular date... I just don't have money to throw away so if I can manage without, then I will.

Once the DDs start complaining of being cold (as long as they are wearing slippers and a warm jumper) then the heating will definately go on.
  • still off here although the kids were complaining it was chilly when they got out of bed and tbh i was a bit cold as well. The sun is now streaming through the front room windows warming the room up. I need to change my dd's duvet to the winter one now.
I expect when i see frost on the grass in the mornings thats when i will put it on but def trying to hold out till Oct.
I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!

Seriously tempted to turn it on this morning but a cuppa, pair of socks and a cardi have put a stop to that idea! Phew! :)

:D Thanks for posting this as its just reminded me that we have a light that we can put on inside our fire too. The fire is a gas fire attached to a back boiler but has red bulbs in compartments so we should be able to kid ourselves too :D

Ours is off, the current temp inside is 18 degrees and outside its 14, its sunny and a bit breezy so hopefully my washing will be mostly dry and i can bring it inside to air before i go to work.

I`m hoping to last until November before putting our heating on but thats not set in stone, last year i tried for the same but it was too cold by mid October so it went on then.

Fingers crossed for an indian summer here in Yorkshire, can`t see it myself up here as we already have that familiar nip in the air at dusk now and the sun has changed to a late autumn kinda light, but it doesn`t stop me hoping all the same :D

    Keep warm peeps.
