Once the sun comes out my house is warm. It's just first thing in a morning or days with no sun when it's a bit nippy.

Very true some people feel cold more than others also it varies on how well insulated you are and or what you find comfortable with

Sadly with all these price rises many and now finding it hard to heat there homes affordable and yes I am getting to that stage myself even though I am proactive in finding free fuel wood for log burner to help supplement my heating

I was brought up with no ch as a child so I know what cold is and I wouldnt want to go back to that but with all these price rises in next few years heating your home a lot will be for the affluent

Again I say it is not a competition:mad::mad::mad: There are people who actually NEED to put their heating on if it is cold and damp. Those with health concerns, babies and young children and those who are older. They are all more susceptible to the cold and it's onset is insidious. This thread should not aim to send those people on a guilt trip as regards their heating needs!

Heating is on for around 3 hours a day now and Ive had the stove lit the last few afternoons

Its wet and cold now and has been for most of September and cold enough now in the mornings and evenings that you can see your breath.

My joints are really letting me know about it atm

Off here in SE London, although an extra blanket will be put on tonight, and possibly even a hot water bottle. I don't see it coming on any time soon, and when it does it will just be for an hour or so for my 3 year old's bath and bed time.
  • Off here (North Essex) but we have started wearing fleecey tops in the evening and I'm wearing socks too. Still summer duvet though, we're thinking another couple of weeks and we'll reconsider.

After our going camping in the last week of September... :rotfl:

Saying that, 5 years ago we camped until the end of November. ;) Amazing how snuggly a tent is when you share a sleeping bag :p
