There are these, quite expensive, but it is for 4

Or if you want to make your own, you could just make the handles longer on this:

Thank you for the links. I like the idea of the footprint ones, but really I want individual bags so that I can have only one in handbag if needs be. I have a memory problem so find I often forget stuff when leaving in the morning and s0ds law remember after I've walked down the 8 flights of stairs! :rotfl:. If I had 4 separate puched bags then there is a chance I'll have at least one in bag or car at a time!

Unfortunatly the individual ones are quite a bit more expensive and do not have a pouch.
I guess, if you could find a suitable bag without a pouch, you could maybe see if any optitions have some of the soft, sunglasses type cases, some are cloth with a drawer string top. I remember seeing some in the sales when I took DD2 for an eye test, they were only about 10p.

If anyone lives in Devon or Cornwall or knows anyone that does I recommend the Hesier bags from Seasalt. They are only a couple of quid and fantastic quality and lovely designs. My auntie lives in Devon and we are always getting the bags as part of a birthday or christmas present! We have quite a collection now! :)

They are a really good clothing brand. I happen to know that their clothing range will be available to buy in a few John Lewis stores in the near future. (My sister is a fashion buyer for JL). Pity they wont be selling the bags in there. They are not collapsible but they have long handles. I find them very useful.

Maybe if you have a friend or relative that lives in Devon or Cornwall to send you one? Just an idea :D

Just found out they sell them online too! Just go here http://www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk and type "bag" in the search box.

Would something like this be suitable? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fold-Shopping-Bag-Clip-Pouch/dp/B002DKH4YA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1316778364&sr=8-2

Not sure that the straps are long enough to reach over your shoulders though.

  • I'm still using the Cath Kidston tesco bags that were on sale in 2008. The cost around £3 at the time and were made from recycled bottles. According to the label they can't be washed, but mine have been in and out of the washing machine many times. ;)

I collected the whole set, with a little help from Penelope Penguin who sent me one that I couldn't find. They're still gorgeous two years down the line and I really hope Tesco do a promotion like this again soon. Some examples here and they are still available on ebay.

I bought a few of those Cath Kidston bags - a stripey one, a flowery one and a spotted one, but they are never available for shopping as I have my knitting in one, one is being used for a sleepover bag for DD15 this weekend, and the other one has been claimed by DD12 to keep "stuff" in as it is pretty! I am reduced to the jute bags, and a couple of the big blue ones....I too hope that they will bring out more of these CK bags, or make the same ones available again.

Rather sadly, perhaps I buy supermarket bags when I am on holiday. I have 2 lovely ones from California, some bright Carrefour ones from France QUOTE]

I love the carrefourand leclerc bags from france, they always sell nice onces in the airport in biarritz too :j
I usually use small bags for life or we carry stuff between the 4 of us. We mostly get deliveries though
