Multi car policy renewal price of £377 . Very happy with that and once again the Punto doesnot let me down . Also done my dmp annual review and confirmed figures mean I am on target for a debt free date of September but I hope to shave a month or two off it by overpaying with any spare money I can muster .0

Well another tyre has had a puncture and again I replaced with a £20 tyre . Once debt free I will buy 4 decent tyres for my car . It is also due its 100 k service shortly so I hope it passes this and continues into my debt free life .
Following Aprils payment I will have paid off one more creditor , that is 3 down 4 to go and my debt has gone from my annual gross pay 5 years ago to less than a months net pay ,.
Finish line in sight .0 -
Just had a read of your previous posts and you are plodding on but doing so well. Your last post about how your payments per your salary have reduced over time is amazing. Well done and keep going. Pity about the tyre and hope the car passes first time.0

Well that 3rd creditor is now paid off . Only 4 more to go . Unfortunately I have 1 bald tyre and another one which keeps deflating so off today to put another 2 £20 tyres on . I know this is false economy but for the next few months I am patching up to get to my debt free date and then buy some decent ones . I am also putting off the 100k service until then , car passed the milestone last week and drives like a dream so service can wait until the summer .
In 2 weeks I have a few days off , hopefully sit down and make plans for the house renovation , deciding what to do first and a wish list of what to do with the rooms . Any ideas anyone ?0 -
I think it is really what you want to do in the house that matters.

First job is to buy a new stove and change the fireplace . The chimney needs lining and we think / hope there is another opening on the other side of the existing fireplace meaning we would be able to knock through to have one opening for living room and kitchen . Would be a real wow feature and heat the downstairs of the property . Can't wait to start saving up for this job .
Got my car tyres done , ended up needing three at a cost of £60 , these should see me through to mot in September when I will decide to put new , decent ones on , finances allowing .0 -
The end of another month passes without incident . Had a few days off work and went to the National Home Building and Renovation Centre in Swindon . It is a one stop centre with companies exhibits that cover every possible trade to do with house building so we used it to give us ideas about doing our home up . Have come home with dozens of ideas about what we could do , now we have to sit down and carefully plan and budget it . I am now receiving dozens of product leaflets from firms in every sector of the building industry , it was a thoroughly enjoyable day out even if we drove 500 miles in bank holiday weekend traffic and were out for 16 hours . Followed it up by going to a food festival which was a thoroughly enjoyable day , sampling produce we wouldnot usually try , have to say I will be attending many of these in the future , Not good for the waistline though but I think after years of budget shopping we deserve to treat ourselves a little .
Nothing really planned for June , heatwave predicted I hear this morning , but my parents will be downsizing in late summer so I need to sort out a hire van to get some items they won't be requiring which will hopefully include a few appliances that may just see our old ones being replaced and seeing through until we decide to redo the kitchen , again back to the house renovation plans .0 -
A quiet month for me has just passed . I am currently on 5 days holiday , my only break this summer , Spent Monday in a hired van collecting things from my parents as they are downsizing , we have made do for the last 5 years so any free goodies will not be turned down by me . Spent yesterday in the garden using various newly acquired tools and it is looking 100 times better , I even feel great but a little suntanned for the first time in my life !!! Today off to Ikea for a wander around , and tomorrow a day at Whitby , fish and chips and a wander round in this beautiful weather . Nothing planned for Friday so probably back in the garden to do some more work .
On the debt front I have paid off another 2 creditors leaving me with just 2 to go , one to be paid off this month and my final one next . I think my final payment to Stepchange will be 1st August with the payment being made to the creditor on the 6th August , my wedding anniversary . Will get confirmation later that month .
I am spending this week budgeting the house repairs to this property with the items we need and want following on from our visit to Swindon now the exhibitors have all been in touch with their products . It is a very rough figure but I will have an idea of timescale and plan of order of doing things . I will be opening a new bank account to put my debt money payment into and use this money to finance it all so it will be a slow process but we will get there .
Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful weather , keep cool .0
