Yess !!! Barclaycard paid off . No more interest being paid to my creditors . I have logged a complaint with them about my credit file being marked AP instead of them defaulting me in May 2010 so wait their response and see whether I have a full 6 years to go before having a clean credit file or just another 3 years . This will make a huge difference to our future plans .
Car passed mot with no problems and washing machine fixed , it was the pump , a few other blocked and gunked up pipes cleaned as well so it should be as good as new and see out the time until I become debt free .
DIY day today , mirrors and towel rails to put up , garden to tidy up etc .
eyes wide open and HOK3Y thanks for your comments and taking the time to read through , I can now see the end of the tunel , I can be debt free by the end of 2014 it needs determination but I can't wait to get there . Good luck in both your journeys I will be following your stories , beanielou thanks for your support along the way .

Well I normally post around the beginning of the month but here we are halfway through October and I am writing my latest post . September has been a tough month . Firstly I have been ill, a water infection for a couple of weeks and then due to not sleeping very well I pick up a throaty , coldy , temperature which had me struggling for a couple of weeks . I am over these but am still not sleeping properly ( hence the reason I am writing this at 515 am on a Sunday morning ! ) For whatever reason I am 15 months from completing my journey and it is more difficult than ever . I have really struggled for money this month , car insurance , tax and mot have been paid , everything ok with car , insurance really good price but I am struggling and wishing I could skip forward 15 months . There are so many things we want to do once we have money available to spend , things need doing to the house , holidays etc and our feelings of wanting to do this mean I am feeling a bit of hatred towards what I am struggling with at the moment . I know there are hundreds if not thousands of people who would love to be in the position of only having just over 12 months to go but after a relatively easy 3 and a half years I am struggling . I just don't want to undo all the good work I've done so am ticking off the days to the end of this year and beginning the final 12 months . Moan over hopefully a better entry next month .

I am sorry that you are feeling ill, and I expect that being under the weather is contributing to feeling down. You have worked so hard for the last three years, 75% done and only 25% to go. Hopefully you will feel better soon, onwards and upwards! I think the time is coming to make plans for when you are debt free, where will the holiday be?

I think it's perfectly normally to hit that wall at some point in the journey. To be fed up of the constant push to be free, to want to be able to do something , anything, else with your money than pay debts. You are approaching the final leg and things will be different in a year from now. Just hold on and know that you are doing everything right.

Thank you for your kind words , I wanted to make plans for when I am debt free as the reward and carrot to try to get me through these tough times . It cheers me up scouring the internet for bathroom suites and ideas , bedroom furniture etc knowing shortly this is what I am working for instead of paying debt off . Inspiration for the home and hopefully it can be achieved in my link terrace , turn it into a wag showhome ,not :rotfl:
As for the holiday ideally sometime in my life I want to go to New York and drive Highway One in California , not straight after becoming debt free though , a villa break in Europe and visit many European cities on short breaks , and potentially visit every county in the UK on a self catering short break but the holiday we wanted to do first was a one night stay in a b and b in York doing a ghost walk and visit the attractions . £70 accomodation , £30 train fare totalspend £150ish , thought I could afford it by now but no I havenot got that spare money I thought I would by now , it will have to wait until March 2015 .

Thank you for that , whilst at work the hours , days , weeks fly by , I enjoy my work . It is whilst on days off and weeks off when you want to do things that it affects me . I know my approach is the best and quickest to become debt free and if I stay on track it will be worth it . The time after that is when I can really enjoy living again:T Focus

Back to posting at the beginning of the month :D
Finally had a response from Barclaycard about marking my credit file with AP instead of defaulting me and they have justified their decision and willl not be defaulting me . It shouldnot matter because we are not planning on moving in the near future so I can live with this for the next 6 years . In the letter it appears that from December they will be doing the same with the account they took over from Egg so it looks like I need to pay this off as a priority .
I don't think this is fair but if I can pay it off in 6 months it won't make a big difference to my credit file , I will need to count down until 2020 before it improves :rotfl:
I have a week off soon , carpet cleaning and I may try for any PPI I may be due just to pass an afternoon although I am certain I won't have any .
I may even begin my christmas menu - pork pie , cheese , pate , etc .
