Ebay buyer not happy, advice please

Thank you. Unfortunately I did take it personally though, I'm far too sensitive.
I just hope she is genuine and doesn't deface it.
I'm confident it will sell again as it's only been used twice.
It always seems it's those with little feedback that are the harshest. Her email to me was rude, so we'll see what happens now.0 -
The people with fewer feedback are the ones who are the least conditioned to eBay's ways, but in a sense they are the ones you have to work hardest to please because they are the ones that are likely to be either unaware of how eBay works as regards their statutory rights (since most other sites, including those marketplaces like Amazon and Play which allow third-party sellers impose the DSRs on all sellers regardless of status as private or business, and a lot of other websites are business operators) and the most fragile as regards keeping people on-site. Once you get used to knowing which rights apply where, people are more and more forgiving. I've been around eBay for eight years, I've sold and bought, and one thing I've learned is that a no-quibble refund policy (within a reasonable frame of time, bearing in mind I'm not a business and don't intend to be one, therefore don't have to offer change-of-mind refunds) avoids most problems that could possibly arise from the difficulties surrounding naive buyers. I still, however, have yet to really have problems when buying, I haven't returned an item ever, and I don't think if it came to the crunch I would ever kick up a fuss at a seller.Dolly-Rocket wrote: »Thank you. But the general public is like that. If you can see past this one person and treat her gently despite her being rude, there's a much greater opportunity to be had from selling on eBay than if you return in kind. Plus then she gets to be one of my customers, or Soolin's, or any other seller on the site, and not have her run off eBay complaining about bad sellers."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Such wise words. I could have written them myself any other day, just not today!
I've just studied the pics in detail.....not a mark. Unfortunately some don't know the difference between used and new.
It's gutting that I'll be £6 out of pocket (for the postage), possibly more for fee's etc.
Who pay's postage for return of item?0 -
Yeah, I know, it's easy to say all that if it's not you in the firing line.
Thankfully, you don't have to reimburse her postage if the item arrives back in the condition you sent it.
Good luck."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Well it's now more than two days since my buyer sent me her complaint. I've emailed her twice but no response. Because I was hasty and put in the cancellation before we had reached an agreement, what now happens if she doesn't respond to that either? I understand that the sale will be cancelled and I'll get my fees back but she can still leave negative right? And what if the bag never gets returned? Then surely I should be liable for fees? I'm still pretty angry at her fibs re: the bag, but it was bound to happen sooner or later I guess. I got scammed out of concert tickets back in 2004 but for some reason this feels worse!0

Just been reading the threads tonight and twice Soolin has mentioned that baby items are highly scammed. Well guess what? the bag I sold was a designer BABY change bag. Hmmmmm......0

If she should open a dispute then she will be told to return the item tracked & the return postage costs are down to her. Don't refund her until after you get the bag back.0

Hi, fortunately I took loads of detailed pictures of the bag inside and out. They were part of the listing. I sent her an email like the one you described on Friday morning but still no response so I sent another. No response again. I'll try and stop stressing a bit, others have had far worse happen. Only after reading these threads have I realised how naive I have been in the past, but fortunately have got lucky!0 -
If she doesn't respond it will expire in your favour in seven days.Dolly-Rocket wrote: »Well it's now more than two days since my buyer sent me her complaint. I've emailed her twice but no response. If she is not contacting you don't hassle her, it may be that she thinks it's not worth it after all."Well, it's election year, Bill, we'd rather people didn't exercise common sense..." - Jed Bartlet, The West Wing, season 4

Just a quick update and question. Buyer finally made contact on Monday to ask fir my address saying she was posting the bag that day. I replied within minutes but have still not received the bag. The sale cancellation request was submitted at 7.25am one week ago today, she has not responded to that either but it us still showing as case open, shouldn't it have expired by now? If it does later today, do I automatically get fees back or do I have to apply for them?
I took Crowqueens advice and carried on selling so I won't let this put me off. I'm just somewhat wiser now, so many thanks.0
