As other people have said you need to monitor your weight over a month rather than a week. I can put on 6 pounds before my period and lose them immediately afterwords so I have to account for that.
You mention eating tons of fruit and then not being able to afford much veg so I wonder if you have perhaps got your fruit/veg balance wrong and are filling up on sugary fruits rather than low-cal, high-fibre veg. Do you really not have a greengrocers or decent supermarket near you? Even Sainsburys now sell basic, but perfectly nice, big bags of vegetables very cheaply.0 -
Thankyou everyone for your kind words and support. I managed to modify the shopping a bit today and save a tenner so i am feeling a bit better. I will take the advice of decreasing my fruit slightly and increasing my intake of veg. And i guess the more slowly it comes off the more likely it will stay off.0

i started sw about 3 months ago, technically for my bmi to be healthy i need to lose 4 stone, i am looking at doing a gradual weight loss. i used to eat out an awful lot and have a lot of junk food and foods that were not good for me. i started sw which seems to be going well losing about 2lbs a week which i am happy with but at that i am not sticking 100% to the plan. the main tough part is stopping having bread as that was the worse thing i would be eating. you are allowed crisps and sweets but count as syns. some days i use none other days i use 15 on average i use about 8, but the biggest change for me was simply keeping a food diary. once i saw what i was eating i knew why i was heavier than i should be. so i have changed to a healthy eating plan which i plan on staying on, i have my breakfast in morning, small lunch and then dinner, if i am hungry try and snack on fat free yougurts or fruit andveg. i stopped drinking full fat juice and switched to diluting.
i did notice some fruits/veg/salad was dear for what i was getting but in reality what i was spending before on sweets or crisps was prob more. my only thing i am stuggling with is variety. i am starting to try new food as i like to experiement.
but the bottom line is yoiu are what you eat, you eat junk you will put weight on, if you eat healthy you wil become healthy and inbasic even eating healthy but at the same time to lose the lbs that are there we need to move and exercise to try and burn it away.
good luck if you have goal in mind and stick to it then go for it.
it canbe done
as for arran m i think you need o realise that people are overweight for different reasons. but think there are millions of people who are overwieght, millions of folk who are not and millions who are underweight. every person has there own battles to contend with. i am not losing the weight for anyone else but me, i dont expect a medal at end of it to say look at me i have lost 4 stone congratulate me because i was the one who put it on. i am doing this so that i can be healthy and also since my dh and i are wanting children in near future i am lloking forward to being healty and giving them the best opportunity in the future:A VK :A0 -
I found that a slimming world 'unlimited food' diet made me put weight on! No mystery there for someone who comfort ate.
It doesn't matter what you eat, if you are taking in too many calories then you put weight on.
Instead just stick to a varied diet but limit your calorie intake, that's all you need to know to lose weight.0 -

Have you been to Aldi and Lidl for your fruit and veg? Might keep the cost down a little bit. I am following EE (1st week in:D )But I would agree with other posters that you need to let things settle down a bit- If Red and Green worked for you before then it should work for you again if you can't get on with EE. Good luck xxxx:)Nuts oh Hazelnuts:rotfl:0 -
I go to a fitness boot camp and our trainer told us to throw the scales in the bin! She said go by body measurements and inches lost as that gives a more accurate way to tell if you are losing weight.
I didn't bin the scales though. In the last couple of months, I have had inch loss and I'm definitely smaller as I've dropped a dress size and I'm fitting into clothes that I couldn't fasten up before. People have commented that I'm looking slimmer. However, I've actually put on half a stone in weight on the scales! Here I go again on my own....0 -

It's not unlimited food - the plan is very well laid out and only certain foods are free and unlimited - I have lost huge amounts of weight following SW principles and it is only what goes in my mouth that increases my weightMama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -
EE is great for most, but at best I lose 1lb a week on it or maintain. however I lose really well on red, so I tend to stick to that, only have 1 HEA and 1 HEB during the day, which means i can kick it over into EE if I get a hungry day, or want to keep the cost down. Occassionally I throw in a green for the same reasons, but probably do 5/7 red in any given week. And you don't HAVE to be eating fruit all day, it's just that you can if you need to! SW say don't be hungry, eat some super free or free if you are.0
