NSD today though- brings me to 5/10 with just over half the month to go - however, as we're in Edinburgh the last week of the month, that'll be a spendy week, so I need to try and achieve target before then.... ;)
Give me a wave when you're here in Edinburgh, greent - ;)
Joined the local library yesterday as was going mad with boredom stuck at home & it's so good, don't know why i haven't done it before... free books all the way from now on :T

Poor you BDINI - hope you enjoy the library - I love mine, like you I dont know why I left it so long to rejoin! I feel I'm getting at least something for my council tax:rotfl:Mind you, in this climate of cuts, I'm enjoying it while it lasts;)

    Good morning everyone,

Reporting #11 for yesterday and today will be #12 as I aint spending today. Need to drop off books at said libaray, but other than that I'm only going to my Mum's for a blether and a bit of knitting.;)
Tomorrow WILL be a spendy, but I've tried to gather all my spends into one day, so tomorrow its food, diesel, birthday card, weekly savings and fares. We are also going out for lunch on Sunday for my niece's 18th, but I will put the money in the going out jar tomorrow.
I've decided that's how Im going to manage my NSD'S - if I know about a spend in advance I put the money aside for it on a spend day, then, if I spend outwith that, ie unplanned, then it doesnt count as a NSD. Hope that makes sense! It does to me:rotfl:
Got a tin of shortbread baking away ATM - had it on my list for tomorrow but then I thought I'd just make my own - VERY MSE:money:

    Have a lovely day everyone:)

you will always be rich enough to be generous.

Well despite being my birthday yesterday I managed a NSD - took homemade cakes to work which went down a storm and saved a fortune!!!
  • Morning all, just checking in with progress to date. NSDs on the 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 12th and 13th so total so far is 8.

I'm really pleased with this as it's been a really tough week at work (shop closures being announced left right and centre although we seemed to have scraped through it unscathed) and I was so close to going on a major splurge to take my mind of it. This challenge stopped me from doing that for which I am very grateful. After all it'd hardly be sensible with possible redundancy looming to increase the debt would it now.

I didn't even cave in to the chocolate bar that was calling - nay yelling - to me yesterday :D

Well done to all those making good progress this month and stay strong!

  • Morning all,

It should be another NSD for me today as the weather is miserable here and there is quite a bit to do around the house as well as some admin work for my OH which will keep me occupied!

Hope everyone has a good day :)

Morning all! i'm back! :j landed at 4.40am this morning from Taiwan (after a 4hrs stop in Hong Kong) Didn't manage a NSD yesterday as I bought part of my friends xmas present in Taiwan airport (a little Chinese silk make up bag) - was kind of what I was going to get her anyway as she lives in Oz which means I need to consider weight when purchasing gifts. I thought it was nice to get something that had a little significance, even if it did mean sacrificing a NSD.

Was expecting today to require a spend on petrol but I'm not going over to my class this evening as i have bought back a stonking cold and can barely brethe sitting down, never mind doing anything active (yes, this time I was THAT annoying person on a 12hr flight constantly blowing their nose :o). Have to go back to the airport later this evening to pick up OH who has been up the road for a few days due to a family bereavment which happened while I was away :(

Am currently lying in bed wanting to sleep but jet lag not allowing it  will try and keep up with this thread a bit more now I'm back in the same time zone. Hugs to all who need them and congrats to everyone clocking up the NSD.

  • Morning all,

Ended up buying mine and OH's fancy dress costumes yesterday so a spendy day. And today has started out as a spend day as I've got to work and realised that my shoes have actually split. I'll be lucky if they last til the weekend so I've ordered a new pair from ebay. Not got some from there before so hoping that they will be ok. As I've already spent this morning, I'm considering spending a whole lot more later today - about £40 for a beautiful dress that I've seen, and around £1200 for a new pc each for me and OH :D

Note to self: supposed to be bringing debt down, not increasing it :p
    ::: Total Paid Since LBM (27/05/10): £4639.85 Official Debt Gone!! :T :::
