My 1st NSD for October...Long overdue.. at one point I wasn't sure it was ever going to happen...:o

And I have managed to completely pay off a 3rd debt.. not that it is related to the NSD challenge but I just wanted to tell someone, if that makes sense. None of my family/friends know about my huge debt.

    brokemedic

Well done brokemedic on your first NSD for the month as well as clearing your 3rd debt - that's great going :j :j And it's nice to have us lot to share the news with, especially when you can't tell anyone at home :T :T

As I said yesterday, Friday is always a spend day as that is when I get my food shopping ......... well not this Friday. Started off as normal taking hubbie down to do his car boot. I left there at 8.45 am to come home to pick oldest doggie up to take her to the vets. Left home at 8.40 am for vets appointment at 8.50 am ... cutting it fine, I know, but I was only a little bit late ... :o Vet said that her recurring skin problem could be feas/mites/dander/mange/anything so she gave me cream and special shampoo for her, and flea treatment for all three. Go back in a few weeks if still a problem and they will do skin scrape for testing. Well, I had put £25 to one side for this visit to get the flea treatment anyway, but the rest was covered by her PDSA PetAid certificate so only (!) had to pay £22.96  for the adv*cate flea treatment - so this is not counted for my NSD. I came out of vets to pop her home, get shopping and then pick hubbie up from car boot and .......................... the van wouldn't start!! I rang hubbie and one of our friends came down and jump started it for me :j so I drove straight home. I was back out at about 12 noon to go back down to car boot (would get shopping later) and guess what? ...................... yes, you're right, the van wouldn't start again, despite jump leads, and one of those 'jump start' machine thingys (it's a technical term). Rang hubbie and te market manager gave him a lift back home but he still couldn't get it to start  He did notice that the fan belt was just a little slack so he tightened that a bit and the battery is on charge overnight, so fingers crossed for the morning :(

So, that makes today NSD NUMBER 5 for me, albeit unexpectedly. Mind you, if the van is sorted for tomorrow, then I'll be getting my shopping in then (unless I leave it till Sunday of course .... Mmn have to think about that now .... )

    Hi brokemedic
Just wanted to say well done for paying off the debt, that must be a huge weight off your shoulders. :T:T

And, yes, it makes perfect sense, you've got us to share your good news with and we can celebrate it with you. Roll on the next one now and you can share that good news with us when the time comes.:T:T

And well done for NSD no 1, you've broken your duck, no 2 will be easier:D.

    Take care

Ok small spend today, haven't been eating much so the fridge was at zero & i figured that if i was going to have a guest tomorrow i could at least offer her bread & milk, so that's what i bought... & nothing else :j
I guess that's the upside of still having a dodgy stomach, it was easy to resist the kitkats on special offer!!!!

Dreading my return to work on Tuesday, am hoping you might be right Spoon that this guy will be nicer, but the knot in the pit of my stomach is telling me that maybe he won't :(
I think it's going to take a real boot up my backside to make me go back & not hide behind another week's sick note

Does anyone else find that they analyse everything too much now? Before i stated thinking about my money & how i was spending it i never really stressed about anything, more just coasted along with my fingers crossed & hoped for the best in most areas of my life. Now not only do i think about what i'm spending, i also seem to add that level of over analysing to the rest of my life, think if i carry on i might drive myself crazy!!!!

    Hi BDINI
You might find the way you're feeling at the moment is due to you being run down and tired, both by your illness and the fact that you've been running around like a headless chicken trying to get your house sorted out for the past forever....

In your shoes, I think I'd be inclined to go back to work as soon as I was fit enough, sitting at home worrying about your new boss won't help and it will blow everything up out of all proportion in your mind, that will just add to your stress and make you feel even worse. Best outfit on so you feel good, big smile when you go in, congratulate him (even if it sticks in your throat) and carry on exactly as normal. Don't let him see you're phased by it - that should confuse him, once he's confused you've got the upper hand... It's not going to be easy for you, I know, but hiding away worrying about it won't help you at all. The sooner you face it, the sooner you'll realise whether you can carry on there.

And I think your new found stress is due to finally taking your head out from the hole it was buried in and realising what's been going on for the past few years. I got very stressed when I realised what had been happening. Finally taking hold of the situation by the scruff of the neck and giving it a virtual shake up resolved my stress.

Sorry, that wasn't meant to be a lecture (or a kick up the bum). Just trying to give you an outsider's perspective on things...

    Thinking about you
Take care and (((hugs))) as always

Unfortunately it's also been a day for a total zero on just about every other front as well :(

Got up 45 mins late, had breakfast (at some point), sat around doing nothing for 3 hours, then decided I'd better get off my @rse and get on with something.... so instead of starting to sort stuff for the weekend I went out for 2.5 mile run :o

Came home, made and ate lunch, vegged out for a bit more, trotted down to work (needed to get the nutritional info for something I've long since thrown the packaging from), came home, got tea ready for cooking, walked the dog, made and ate tea, and have sat around doing nothing since then as well.

I'd planned to be heading to bed by 10pm, but the only thing I've found for the weekend so far is my paper trimmer so looks like it'll be a late one - and after I took a day off work to get ready ;)

I think you probably needed a day sitting on your @rse doing nothing, Cheryl. You've been working long hours and doing a lot of exercise recently, think you probably needed a bit of a rest.

Hope the fund raising thing-y goes well tomorrow.

    Take care
