NSD 12 for me today.DFW Nerd 941 Proud to be dealing with my debt
August GC £0/£3000 -
Bought some fab 'long life' Whoopsies as I left work tonight (including glace ginger, 10x100g tubs @ 9p each and 2 large bags of Organic SR flour for 45p each), then called back in at the end of the dog walk to speak to my relief (who I don't see on a Tuesday as there's an hour between our shifts) and picked up some bread items (been using sliced bread from freezer for toast, and bought rolls tonight to have with lunches in the hope I can boost my calorie intake a bit with them)
Then came home and logged into my bank account to check the D/Debit had gone out - only to discover it hasn'tReally don't understand why not though, as the money's there and this one always goes out on 26th or first working day after (or always has for the 2 years+ that I have records of all my D/Debits) !!!
A little annoyed I bought the groceries and lost an extra NSD, but at the same time also not too bothered as I know I'd have been unlikely to be able to get most of them tomorrow - have an extra 5 hours, so start at 7am and can only shop at lunch/after work. Had I not been starting until 1pm (as normal) I might have got some of the long life ones had I gone down for store opening time (expecting another D/Debit to go out tomorrow)
Got a partial result on the temperature of the bakery today :T The oil we use in the doughnut fryer generally needs topping up part way through the job, and yesterday it had set solid in the 'spare' containers - so the bakery manager and I were almost having to poke it out of a fairly narrow pouring hole. It wasn't any better today (despite being fractionally warmer outside - and hence in the bakery as well), so I mentioned it to a couple of managers - the second one being the store manager who has seemed to be very resistant to giving us any means of isolating them in case we don't put them on at all (which slows cooling times of products, and therefore means it's later before we have the shelves filled). Tackling the issue from a personal "we're freezing" point hasn't got others anywhere, but once I showed him the oil he made a phone call to someone to do with store maintainance - and the end result is they're going to install an extra switch for the fans instead of them being on the same one as most of our lights :T
We'll still have to have the fans on for at least part of the early morning (to cool products during the main baking sessions), but may be able to turn them off by 10:30am (certainly by noon) - meaning it'll be warmer (and quieter) for my afternoon shifts, and also for the two who do the close and clean shiftsCheryl0 -
Evening all! Not sure if i'm declaring a NSD today or not yet, did the grocery top up with OH today and finally got some scales for my cooking in Asda - I really wanted some slim electronic ones but couldn't find what I wanted at less than about £15, Asda had some lovely black glass ones for £8 - result! However, it depends if OH allows my to count them as part of our main grocery shop or whether I will cover them from my own pennies as to whether i get a NSD or not (fingers crossed I get a little treat - esp given the HUGE pile of ironing I have done this evening)
Car went into the garage today - turns out its the fan that has gone on the heater - part orderd but won't be in for a few days, however, part alone is £120  though the garage have promised to fit it as quickly as they can and will also try and fix my clock/thermometer (display has died) - assuming it's just the bulbs at the back that have gone (have to get behind the dash to do it)
Well done Cheryl for the result in the bakery, that's crazy that you guys are so cold the oil is solid. Hope they get the switch sorted asap.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Hello to:
jintyb: definitely frosty this morning, brrrrr..... Glad your skin has calmed down a bit but, yes, the shower gel won’t have helped either... I think David will fit in very well at the ceilidh - an inspired choice of partner, I thought... and Cap’n Jack as well, we’ll be spoilt for choice
Don’t worry about going off topic, we all need a little diversion... and drooling about lovely scottish men is a very suitable diversion
Fingers crossed for today and target no 2, hope you get your skin sorted out
pure dead dopey: John should be a good partner for the ceilidh, think he’d enjoy the country dancing, he could definitely whirl you around the floor
katenut: yep, James McAvoy can definitely join us
Looloo: hope spendy day isn’t too serious
Oh dear, poor pud, hope his head is OK, and fingers crossed for an NSD for you today
Ooops.. make up called, that’s a shame, but well done for resisting the golden arches
thrifty fifty: hope spendy day isn’t too serious
LfV: ouch.... sounds painful.... hmmm.. why are you doing this again???
kerri gt: hope you had a lovely gossip with your friend and hope OH is kind to you with the scales, target no 3 is within reach now.
BDINI: Glad you had a good night out, good idea on Billy for the ceilidh, he’ll keep us all amused.
Good luck with your first full week back at work, take care x
kezlou: fingers crossed for today
katenut: fingers crossed for today, chin up, you’re definitely heading in the right direction
And I managed no 20 yesterday, so I now have my demented pumpkin as well.:j.....
Going to increase my target to 23 now, and I got no 21 today, so on the way to my breakdancing skeleton as well
Off to update the front page now, so see you all tomorrow.

Oooh I've just checked and listed my receipts and according to my budget book I have done the following so far - "drum roll please"..lol.
21 NSD's- I can't believe it, maybe when I am not stressing about how many days it actually makes it easier. Although I do make sure I spend and buy what I need on the days I am having a spending day (does that make sense?!) Yikes I think I miscalculated somewhere, although the receipts are showing 21 yet by my calculations on here it is 17 NSD's. Now I'm not sure how many days I have done..eeeps!!!
How has everyone else been doing?
I was given the cheery news that it is exactly 2 months till Christmas morning, this morning at the vets..I nearly asked if I could get any gas as I got depressed..lol:rotfl:
Hi Natty
Oh dear, bit of confusion on your NSDs...... I'll have a look through your posts in case I've mis-counted (it's entirely possible) and update the front page accordingly).
Hope it works out OK.
