wifi on mobile phone
I've been trying to set up a link from my broadband router so I can use it to access the internet on my phone. I know I've done it before but now I have a new Thomson router I keep getting a message that the security code is incorrect. There are so many different numbers on the back of the router I don't know which one is the security key - none of the numbers on the router are actually called that - I'm sure I've tried them all but must be doing something wrong. I've also tried those - which are the same - on the bit of paper that came with the router. Can anyone tell me which is the security key I should be using?
Thank you

Did you set up your own password when the router was set up?0

No I didn't. It came with one. I just wish I knew which of the numbers was the one I needed, wep, wpap sk, wireless pin, router password, modem access code, mac etc etc, there are so many numbers.
If it was up to me I would do without a password, i live in the middle of nowhere and none of the local sheep are computer literate (as far as I am aware.)

Hi Eliza,
On ours it's called the "Wireless Key" ......It's case sensitive too on oursIt's not just about the money0 -
You can always reset the router to factory default wiping all data including passwords .
But you will need all your ISP log in details to set up once more .
General routers have either a Wireless section or a Security section where you find the wireless setup and security . Wep and WPA are types of wireless security .
A router does not come with a wireless key as standard its a user add in . If yours came with a key then the probability is that the supplier ISP provided the key and it should be found via the ISPs help pages .
