Help BT are falsely charging me

Hi
Just seen my BT bill and am really shocked!!

I had BT vision and rang the call centre when my contract was nearly up. They did not have any good deals and I was thinking of not renewing it. The guy I spoke to on the phone said fine and he would not renew the contract. However my new bill says I cancelled my contract and is charging me £104!!!!
"You cancelled your BT Vision service whilst in contract - so this is the
deferred payment charge for this service"


Has this ever happened to anyone else.
There is no way I am paying this as I did not cancel it only let it run to the end. Please if someone has any advice on this as I am really worried about having to pay. Is there a number I can call to sort this out (The website only gave me an email address but I'm afraid it won't be sorted out before it leaves my account)

Any help would be grateful

  • I was told by a member of staff at BT (on the phone) that this would not be taken from my account. However the bill is still showing the wrong amount. Is this possible?
    I cannot find the contact details for you and I do not wish to post my account details over the public forum.

    Not sure why they don't just put it on the post, maybe they don't want to make it too easy for people??
