Have managed to stay away form the Sanctuary box but not so sure of the Radox offer going into Mr T's tomorrow - buy 1 get 2 free, so works out at something like 59p a bottle!Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.
Take time but don't waste time0 -
Some tips to those with scary amounts of stuff:
1. Makeup
- I took the decision to downsize my make-up carry on bag. It was previously quite a big one and now its an Elemis silver box. Less room for stuff means you see what you have and so when you're out your less tempted to buy stuff you dont need.
- get rid of any eye pencils or mascaras that you cannot remember how long they have been open. I stupidly kept using a liquid eye liner from Barry M and then wondered why my eyes were sore. Its now replaced (an absolute fav that one). So dont give yourself more problems - yes it seems wasteful to throw these things away but we're talking about the health of your eyes here.
- set up a duplicate make up bag for your desk - so you use the stuff up for top ups during the day.
2. SKincare:
- certain brands - such as Liz Earle - or any with less preservatives should be targeted first. (Much like the Lush ballistics). They go off quicker. And if they smell funny or weird dont risk it unless your skin is really tolerant, mine isnt it's a 2 year old screaming sometimes!
- I place all the things I want to actively use up into a basket. So at night I remember to grab them and use them.
- If you have body lotion miniatures or travel sizes, use some of these at work for your hands.
Hope these little tips help. Its all a continual process though. But the room in the bathroom cabinet and the smug feeling of being under control with this (well at least more than I was) is so worth it. :A
Right back to my stash, I need to buy some bits:
Body Shop seaweed moisturiser (could do with a 3 for 2 offer)
Clarins cleanser (could do with a Bonus Gift offer)
Any recommendations for a decent eyelash curler? My Cosmopolitan/ Superdrug one seems worn out. I have a Tweezerman one at work. Was wondering if anyone had that Space NK Shu Emuru (spelling?) one and if it was worth it.Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage

thanks for some great tips and words of wisdom mineallmine:T
they couldn't have come at a better time as I have just chucked out 4 old mascaras and a bottle of Botanics anti-wrinkle serum this evening and have been feeling pretty cross with myself at the waste, but I imagine I would be even more irritated if I ended up with a nasty eye infection.
I managed a couple of UU's as well - Time Delay wrinkle reduce serum, I don't think I'll buy this again as I'm not convinced it did anything, and finished a Max factor false lash effect mascara which I absolutely love and will definitely be buying again0 -
Thanks for the tips!!
Unfortunatly, i am VERY ocd about my make up collection, only have 1 mascara on the go at a time, and the others are still sealed.
Also once a week a wash my brushes with baby shampoo, and inbetween that (usually every 2 days) a clean them with brush cleaner.
And monthly i get out all my powders, spray them with alcohol, let them air dry then put the back. Also dip my eyeliner pencils in alcohol.
I guess it's a good thing that i'm so picky with my make up, but on the other hand nothing every goes funny or off so it does have to be used up rather than thrown out!
Would also like to report that i have nearly finished a bottle of Snow Fairy from last christmas, hurrah! There is enough left in in for 1 more shower tomorrow morning. Feel like a bit of a fraud as there was only a teeny bit left in it when i started this challenge, but still it will be one less thing in my stash! Now just to start on the bigger bottle of this year's batch of it.
Everyone always gets me a bottle of Snow Fairy for my christmas/birthday, which is why i still had 1 left after a whole year!! I even sold 3 on ebay as well. Thinking of asking people not to buy me any this year!0 -
Just binned my Benefit Bad Gal mascara, stupidly left the top unscrewed when I used it last and its dried out. So currently choosing between the three new unopened ones in my make up box. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Good word mineallmine
Last year I think I applied a sun protection milk on my arms that has been kept for a few years (was opened); well serious bad skin reaction (crocodile feel) for a few days so much for wanting a nice tan to show off; I had to keep my arms hidden for a few days.
