  • Ooh, I will pick up a copy of the catalogue today. But obviously only to use it for reference! :)
    UUs for me:
L'Oreal Shimmer and Nourish Highlights shampoo 400 ml (huge! has lasted for months) WIBA? Yes, probably. Seems to do a good job. It's slightly more expensive than normal L'Oreal makes, but still a bargain.
    Toothpaste/dental floss. *yawn*
I have loads of splutterers though, so think I'll be back soon. :)

    Morning all,

I am up for this challenge this month as well. I haven't bought anything so far this month and have one UU, LE's skin repair moisturiser for dry/sensitive skin. I have used this product for years, I have now started to use another one but it feels like the texture of the product has changed or perhaps my skin has changed.

I joined this challenge in January and have put £1 in a pot for every product I have used up/thrown away. I now have £55 and today I will be using that money for paying for a 2 hour beauty treatement, full body massage with hot stones, body exfoliation and a facial cleanse. I cannot wait to have it done. Then I shall start saving up for a new treatment.

Good luck with the challenge everyone.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
    Boots points:£39.21. Extra money in 2012:£674.59. In 2013 £603.48. 2014: £85. 2015: £0 :j

wish I have thought of putting money in a pot would be good to treat myself to a massage.used to go each year to local spa for a £100 treat of manicure/pedicer/facial/massage which cost me £80 with clib discount but same thing this year has gone up to £125:(:(:(it used to be a lovely pre Christmas treat ,maybe if I start to pit money in a pot I will be able to go for the facial/massage part:)

    hello ladies,

one UU for me - A tub of Tresemme hair treatment that I picked up in Egypt - WIBA yes it was good and lasted for ages! I am going to move onto BS rainforest moisture mask now

One in for me - I thought I would experiment with 12% DHA tan instead of an off the shelf tan and so bought one from a seller on ebay to try - I applied about an hour ago and its very liquidy, not lotiony, and immediately gave a nice colour - now to see how it develops eeeek! although i selected a sweet orange smell which is how it smells in the bottle i am now smelling like biscuits! not used to this after using vita liberata and fake bake for so long so hope the results are worth it...fingers crossed!

    have a good weekend :) x
  • Hi can I join in again too please?

I was here for a few months earlier in the year but but kind of lost the habit during the summer (what summer?) months.

Searched for the thread again today as my 200ml Protect & Perfect face serum has been standing upside down for a couple of weeks now and I'm getting quite excited that its coming to an end! :j Only people on this thread will understand :rotfl:

Also threw away two travel sized half-used Sanctuary hand scrubs, as they had been open too long and had gone nasty. Didn't smell bad, but left a horrible thick white greasy coating on my hands that took several washes with a scrubby soap from Lush to get rid of!

Still have lots to use up in my stash, so look forward to joining in again.

I've not posted for ages but now had two UUs to report and a few spends (although all can be justified as I am replacing items that I don't have in a stockpile).

    Firstly UUs:-

Elemis Pro Radiance Cleanser WIBA? No. Unfortunately my quest for the replacement to my previously beloved LE C&P continues. This one did not fit the bill. At certain times it made my skin more oily as well.

Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream WIBA? Yes. This is my HG day cream although I am now out of all stock (MrM bought me four TSV's at Christmas each containing a 30ml pot and they've all gone). At the moment I'm using an Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference moisturiser which so far so good. It's thicker in consistency than the PCMC (hoping this won't give me whiteheads as I'm prone to them if I use anything too thick) but not too thick as it feels really comforting on my skin. We will see.

OK now to fess up on my purchases but as mentioned above they're justified, honest:-

Bottle of OPI Nail Envy I do have about half a bottle left but a workmate was visiting a Beauty wholesalers recently so it would have been rude not to take her up on the offer of getting me a bottle whlst she was there. Did save a considerable amount on the price in Boots.

A set of 6 Smashbox lipglosses. I bought the Rapture set in 2008 when I was in the States and have loved each colour in the collection. Have managed to buy a set on Ebay (three of the colours were limited edition) for £13.50. OK they're not full sizes but given that the full size costs £13.00 alone and I could still buy three of them I've saved. Plus if they last me another two years I'll be chuffed.

A Try me Palette of Smashbox Brow Tech. I have been meaning to try this for ages and have tried to save money by obtaining (via swaps) other eyebrow cosmetics. Have tried Benefit speed brow and Brow zings but alas both have been the wrong colour. This Smashbox palette has three different colours so hopefully I can get it right this time.
Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

  • A boring UU for me: a Simple deodrant. I bought a replacement for it at the beginning of the month.

I am going shopping today and need to pop into Boots to buy some dental floss. I'm confident that I won't be tempted to buy anything else in there though (although I might have a browse) as I want to wait until one of the Xmas shopping evenings to get the extra points.

No UU for me yet, but at least I haven't given in to temptation. I did go around Boots yesterday looking at things I'd like, but those are to give to other people.
Trying for daily wins, and a little security in an insecure world.
  • Another UU for me: La Roche Posay Lipikar handcream. WIBA? No, as this was a bit too runny and thin for me. I do really like the brand though, and this was actually a generous GWP (full-sized).
    Have a good weekend, all!

wooow hoo sunny morning here..washing on the line too!
not sure who asked about the brazil nut body butter from bs..umm well this ones shea butter not conut..not sure why i thought it was coconut lol..i think they stopped the brazil nut one, changed it to just nut butter for a bit then onto the shea butter..least thats my way of thinking having allways been a huge fan of the brazil nut one, .The shea nut one does smell the same and is also for very dry skin and you need even less of it than the others just 3 smears are enough for me i think the shea one lasts me about 8 months if used on the face alone.

well its the mid month doldrums for me want to go out and treat myself but nope..ive broken out a of sample and used that instead..which was outspoken by fergie..wibi? nope smelt like cats pee on me..erugh!

one uu to report but not one off my list as my sil gave it too me. avon lotus flower hair mask wiba? maybe was thick creamy and smelt nice but it didnt seem to get much use out of it maybe 6 uses for a big tube..was expecting more lol

also have a few near uses ups which im looking forward too

and one in..face cream (day cream) i use really intensive night cream so whould be too greasy for day use..so i thought id try dun dun dun dun..the one one from poundland..q10 or something its allways in stock..pleasantly suprised absorbed quickly no greasy sheen and no nasty cheap smell..give it a go next time you might like it too lol..so will defo stick to this brand !

no..i devoured the boots catalogue too..i could have bought almost the whole of the first half of the catalogue eek
have a lovely weekend and forthcoming week..remeber if you want a treat ..try try try some FREE samples first ..or a free makeover..just dont buy anything xx
