Recommendations for tough school bag for boys

My 12 year old who has just started high school, nice brand new gola rucksack costing near enough £20, 3 weeks down the line and it is completely wrecked, after 2 weeks he had a rip in the top of it, now the zip "apparentely" got caught and was ripped off so obviously nothing will now stay in the bag and I'm going to have to fork out for a new one asap. I really cannot afford to be forking out £20 every month for a new school bag so I'm hoping I can get some recommendation for a bag that'll last a little longer than that, my son does have dyspraxia so does walk into alot of things but surely there must be bags out there that are a little tougher and will withstand this. Please let me have any ideas

Failed to take care of the one you gave him? Give him a Sainsbury's carrier bag - tough...I think....0

:rotfl: the bag is bigger than him lol0 -
I would go with the plastic bag too, for a week or so, til he learns his lesson, dyspraxia or not, he is old enough to know how to take care of his stuff.
You should get a decent bag in Sports Direct for around the £13 mark. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -
Eastpak bags are good, I've got one myself that I got in TK Maxx....cost about £15, but it's lasted me and comes with a 10? year guarantee so if it breaks, you send it back and they'll fix it/replace it for you** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

I would expect him to buy a new one if he can't look after the one you bought him. If he pays he might looks after the next one. One bag a school year is perfectly reasonable.0

I go for a Billabong or Rip Curl, they come in different sizes, and as my DD schooldoesn't have loackers she has to carry everything all day! They are a bit dearer than some, but last the full year.0

We go for ones that have a flap over the top that protects the zip, they seem to last longer for some reason, though we have a girl and they're far less likely to use their schoolbags as football.
Have a look in Argos, they usually have school bags on special offer. I agree that sports direct ( what used to be Donnay) will have cheap bags.
Make it clear if another one ends up wrecked you will be shopping in Poundland for the next one...;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19
