    If you can't wait, you can try to connect wirelessly now. It won't do any harm. Just make sure that that you are using the same encryption on both the router and the laptop.

    For instance, whatever is selected here(a depiction of your Router's web interface);

    should be reflected in the ASUS settings.

    So what does happen?
  • Nothing happens it just logs on as normal. On looking at your link via youtube a number of people wrote comments explaining the restore didn't work for them either. I don't know if it depends on the year of manufacture.

    Some people were just using different machines. Did you try the different options, such as Shift + F9 or F2 + ESC + F9. Play around a bit. It won't do any harm.

    We still have other options.
  • For others that may stumble across this thread I fixed the issue last night after many many hours of trying everything I could think of by simply plugging the EeePC into the back of the router using the Ethernet (network) cable and downloading the wireless update that was in the settings section of add new software.
    After I had installed that (and all other updates I found) and unplugged the Network cable then it connected to the SKY wireless with no issues. I didn't change any settings on the router, and just used the WPA security key that is printed on the back of the router when trying to connect.

    I was just stuck on 'Pending' and this fixed it for me.
