Has anyone else had a problem with Royal Mail redirections? In short, my redirection was never put in place properly (even now, rather than redirection labels being put on my mail, the new address was handwritten on, if I am lucky).
I moved only a few streets away in the same postal delivery area. To make matters worse, the previous tenant in my new address also set up a redirection and we are still getting his mail.
When I contacted Royal Mail they promised to sort it out, but it is still not right. I contacted them repeatedly, over the phone, by email, in person at the sorting office and finally by letter. Each time I was told it would be sorted out.
In reply to a letter of complaint I sent, I have been told that there is no compensation service in place for the Redirection Service I have paid for, meaning that for the time my mail was not / continues not to be redirected, I cannot be refunded.
So I have paid for a service I have not received, and if I never do receive this service, then I will not be refunded - surely this cannot right?
Also, when I set up the redirection, I was promised a "MoveMe Box" - to add insult to injury, this is now not even going to be delivered.

TBH if you moved a few streets then it doesnt really require stickers. one postie walks over and hands the letters to the one on that delivery

has the previous tenant checked that? do the letters say 'occupier/do not redirect' and do they meet the name requirements put on their redirection?

depends where the issue is.is it the redirection centres info they are supplying or is it the delivery offices work.

they will offer an extension, not refund

you dont happen to get your mail at constantly varying times do you?0 -
I had major problems with redirection. Mail didn't come and fortunately my old neighbour sent it to me. Eventually I got a refund and still got the service for the remainder of the year with mostly good service. I would keep at it and keep a note of all problems.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

no moveme box for me either.
I sent them an email and they apologized but it wont be coming as it wasnt up to standard.
The mail seems to come through in clumps too and some has not even arrived which has resulted in my last post on the vents boardI have a card with a large high street store and when I get my bill I pay the full amount off everytime. It is rarely owing and has never been above £100.
I have recently moved house and some mail has not been received and therefore I did not receive my latest bill (£68.14 minimum payment £4) for the last month. Obviously with moving etc as it didnt land on my doorstep I failed to make the payment. (which has never happened)
I have today received my bill for September which has the purchases for August on, interest and a charge of £12 for non payment last month. Included in the envelope was another sheet informing me that I have been reported for non payment to the relevant credit agencies
To say I am livid is an understatement.
To top it off I call them and the customer advisor says that the bill for August was posted out 3 days ago and I may have not received it yet and that is the bill I needed to pay BUT my 'due' date for payment is 10 days before I get the bill and that I should not rely on the bill for payment.
I have checked my account online and they have my old address even though I had informed them of the change of address at the beginning of August. He stated that they had my new address but it is 'possible' that mail had been sent to my old address (I have a redirection set up for 6 months so that is not possible!)
He agreed that it did seem unfair but the non payment had been sent to the credit agencies and could not be retracted. Is this right ? and do I have to now have a non payment 'on file for the next 6 years because of no fault of my own?
I have never been in debt, never missed a payment and because of this error in their system I am now going to be penalised.
I know that to some it is a minor credit thing but I do not want this noted as it was not my fault.
Any suggestions ? Preferably not, 'get over with it, it isnt a biggy'......because to me IT ISLife is a rollercoaster.....ya just gotta ride it:whistle:0 -

Can be any time of the day, usually later on a Saturday,on earlier on weekdays.
They have the stickers! Some pieces arrived with the stickers on, on the first day of the direction, then nothing after that! I have been into the sorrting office and been shown the stickers for my mail and the previous tenant's!
I think it is the same postie for here and my previous address.
Yes, the previous tenant checked his redirection - the mail we are getting has the correct name on it (as did mine!0
I think the issue is at the sorting office.
I've not been offered an extension - should I ask for this again (I did ask for this!)? They said this was not an option in the letter sent to me.0 -

'Apparently I shouldnt rely on invoices coming' - a black mark against my name now -thanks Royal Mail!!
I know how you feel, my reason for setting up a redirection was because the address I moved from have gone downhill, lots of criminal activity in the building and the letterboxes were not secure (the girl next door to me had her accounts hacked into, and an iphone was ordered in her name. Someone tried to intercept the parcel being delivered and missed it, I took the parcel in thinking it was for the girl next door and they found out. I was held up at my front door for it. Not good.
So my mail, including final utility bills etc (even thought again I had changed address with them...) went there. Luckily some of this was before I moved out (set up redirect to new place in what I thought was plenty of time before handing in the keys) Then my new credit card went astray ...0 -
Another letter from Royal Mail today, in which they say they have reopened my case and I am not entitled to a extension to the service.
Who can I take this further with?
Sorry if I seem a bit ranty on this, but I just feel that it is really bad for a company to take money off people for a service they don't put into place, and then to come back and say there is no refund or compensation service.0 -
Threaten to take them to court. Nobody wants to go to court.0
