Ohhhhhh Spud! Go for it! I'll come up and cheer you on (not that, that would make you do it...)

Beannie - Hope the tooth's feeling a bit better.

Had my parents here today which was lovely. Spent lots of money, which was also lovely and decided that now we're debt free and have a nice lump of savings that we want to give something to someone. We want to give £100 to someone who really, really could do with it because I know just how much we could have done with that during some of the dark days of deep debt. But the problem is who....I don't want to donate to a charity where some of the money is lost in administration, I want it to go to someone who really needs it. So ideas on a post card - are there any organisations out there that I can contact that would help people in this way? I know £100 isn't a huge sum but I know just how much it could help someone so if anyones got any ideas please let me know.

Apologies for butting in, there is a group/charity? called Christians Against Provety who help on a one to one basis for families with debt, set up DMP's etc, I know they are very hands on. There was a lady posted on here (not sure if she still does) called Mumoftwins (I think) - she had a really hard time, more or less homeless with 2 children and they helped her get a house etc etc. They don't charge fees and you do not have to be a Christian to be helped by them. Not sure where/how to contact them. Anyway, just a thought.........:o
  • Pooky - how about the local women's refuge? Although saying that, I offered 3 big bags of really nice clothes for women arriving and never got a reply from the one here :(

Thanks Quirky (nice to see you btw) and thanks BB - I shall dig deeper into both of those tomorrow. We have no connections with any church but I'm more than happy to give them a try.
