Well I put the car on ebay to see if I could get the reserve. I didn't mind if it sold or not. I didn't expect it to reach the reserve especially when they didn't come to view. If it never sold I would have kept the car along with the plates.
So you were willing to spend the £30 to list the auction to see if it would reach your reserve? you set the reserve so since it sold, i guess it went OVER the reserve - so since they have won the auction, its a legal contract - at that point, she should have paid a deposit straight away, but as for the plate changes, yes the DVLA charge but i do not understand your complaint? yes, she failed to pay, ok, but what about the part where you said you would keep the car if it never sold.... the fact is that it did sell for over the reserve so why not offer to the next highest bidder? or try autotrader? ebay isnt the best place to sell / buy a car.

and depending on the age of the car, and the price, viewing isnt nessessery - ie if the car is 15 years old and is selling for £50 - then why bother to check it over big time you will see it when you collect.

the £105 you pais DVLA you would have to have paid anyway so list the car again, and sell .....

The £30 fee was because it sold - Selling fees. So no if it never reached the reserve then I wouldn't have paid them.

My main complaint is that this woman bid over £6000 for my car and led me onto believe she was coming that night to pay deposit and will return today with full amount.

All ebay will do is give her a strike. That only lasts a limited time. They even said they rule about it being a binding contract isn't the law of the land, so nothing I can do.

But some good news. I have mad the woman pay me the £30 fees and I have rang DVLA they have stopped the swap of the plates and refunded my money.

I didn't offer it the the second bidder because it was below the reserve. The reserve was very low anyway.

Im missing something here... you are aware that the reserve on the car costs money too right? Probably about the same as the fees it sold for!

Id be tmpted to write her a letter to get it off your chest and at least make her rightly feel bad for putting you out of pocket by this amount of money. Even ask that if she has any decency will she cover half of it.

Id be tempted to relist it nearer to the Xmas months.

The stuff I sell on ebay sells waaayy better in November December.

Re the 5-7 days on the plate change over. It should take 24hrs at DVLA office, after which time you get your new tax disc. You put the old plates on immediately and the vehicle can be driven immediately.

I am assuming then, you sent it off by post, which is where the 5-7 days comes in? Cos when I swapped my plate it took only 24hrs.
It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.

No. I took it to my local DVLA office. Previously it was done there and then, but now she said it was 5-7 days.

Not sure thats strictly the case... I sell high end guitars on ebay and the summer period is by far the quietest. Between October through to about May you get top dollar and thats guitars costing a minimum of a grand up to serval thousand.

Depends what type of car Id imagine too.. would it appear to young drivers.. possibly an xmas present from a parent?

Speaking as a car dealer here, november and december are traditionally quiet months. Not saying people don't sell cars in those months, just saying there are a lot less buyers.
