Hi all
I'm really pleased that I'm getting back into meal planning, done really well this last week with only tonight's meal being changed (DD is helping at her School's open evening so will be home late, so we'll both have 'something' on toast instead of the planned pork and rice one pot)

Saturday, 02-Oct DD at her dads, so probably hm soup/bread from freezer
Sunday, 03-Oct Roast beef/gravy/veg/yorkshire pud
Monday, 04-Oct Sweet and sour chicken with noodles
Tuesday, 05-Oct HM Cottage/Shepherds pie
Wednesday, 06-Oct Southern fried chicken breast, new potatoes, peas, carrots, sweetcorn
Thursday, 07-Oct Aromatic slow cooked pork with rice (not tried recipe before) http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/181620/Aromatic-slow-cooked-pork

My mealplan for last week went completely out of the window as I've been off work sick and have felt too ill to do any cooking - on the positive side, it's run down my freezer stocks beautifully!
This week I've got (health / enthusiasm permitting):
Friday - spicy sausage and baked bean casserole
Saturday - boiled gammon with root veg mash and hopefully lentil gravy (I think that's what's in the unmarked tub in the freezer, anyway)
Sunday - LO gammon in honey-mustard sauce (from a jar - but it was on special offer) with broccoli and pasta
Monday - gammon and mushroom pie with braised red cabbage
Tuesday - chicken, mushroom and new potatoes in honey-mustard sauce, with green veg of some sort
Wednesday - HM cheese and onion pasty with braised red cabbage
Thursday - prawn and vegetable stir-fry, mini spring rolls and naan breadBack after a very long break!0 -
I must get back into this. Am living on ready meals and never cooking a decent meal or feeling full. Spending money I dont have on lunches at work rather take something in.
I'm slapping my own wrists here!0 -
Thanks for getting us started PP.
well this week has gone according to plan, just have to get OH to make chowder tomorrow night and I think we will be 7/7 for the meals-no changes (once the week started lol) and more importantly-NO TAKEAWAYS!:j:j
The (hopeful, no doubt will be changed) plan for next week is:
Su 3rd roast shoulder of lamb, Yorkshires, roast spuds, carrots and beans
Mo 4th Shepherds pie hash, cauliflower cheese
Tu 5th lamb pitta kebabs, salad, mint yoghurt, new spuds.
We 6th roast spiced basa with chana masala
Th 7th chilli and rice, sour cream
Fr 8th tuna and sweetcorn pasta bake
Sa 9th Pork dhansak and rice.(well, maybe, some sort of curry anyway)
Su 10th roast guinea fowl, veg and spuds
The shoulder of lamb is HUGE, but I think will possibly freeze some leftovers, otherwise we will be eating lamb all week! Might make some stock and do a broth-normally the cat gets to chew on the lamb bone, but he may have to wait until its been boiled up (feel a little guilty if I do this-its his favourite thing-he only gets a bone from a large joint like shoulder, and he chews it under supervision like a big lion :rotfl:)0 -
Hello all
Almost October already, can't believe it!
Struggling with meals and menus at the moment because i have no interest in food unless its put in front of me, if i've prepared & cooked it then i'm sick of the sight of it by the time i serve it lol. The only thing i want to eat are cold things, same as with DS. Anyway, i've managed to put together a menu for the next week so hopefully i'll stick to it!
Fri - Turkey stir fry and noodles
Sat - SFC, hm wedges and bbq beans
Sun - Toad in the hole, mash, carrots and green beans
Mon - Spaghetti Carbonara and garlic bread
Tues - Chicken in mayo, jackets, salad, h/b eggs
Weds - Egg and chips
Thurs - HM Pizza from freezer
Fri - HM Chicken curry, rice, naan
