Sadie I am really looking forward to giving it a go, we have the book already but I think one made by me will be better. We have presents on Christmas eve as well as Christmas day, and I also like to give her a present on New Years as well. This is normally a diary but she did not use it so I may make her a memory box that she can use through out the year.
We have a few xmassy books but not the proper 'Night Before Xmas' poem. We have been doing a xmas eve hamper for a couple of years now but may have to rethink that as my LO was born last xmas eve! :o My eldest DD is only just going 4 so a diary/memory box is a bit old for her. Lovely idea for when they are older though. Have seen people talking about doing new years eve hampers instead for this year but I wouldn't know what to put in it.

Georgiegirl2012 have had a look at your piccies, looks very nice once put together. Am now following your blblblblblblblog too :D
  • Hi ZLS, I can completely sympathise as my Mum also suffers with depression and at times it is just too much to cope with. The whole parent/child relationship gets completely skewed - at times I felt more like the parent than the child! As the others have said, you just have to ignore the drama and just be there in the background for when they really need you.

Congratulations Pads - I am SO jealous! :) That stamp is gorgeous!!

Won't have many (if any) time to be online for a couple of days as off up to Aberdeen for work and don't get back till late Thursday. Gonna be a quiet couple of days lol! :)

Hi ladies - just popping on to say "hello" - sorry I've been missing again! The kids are keeping me busy - Tilly has started rolling around now - can't believe how quickly she's growing.

I've had a massive spending splurge - I've bought a couple of the new prima pads, some of the matching stamps, and some beads and findings - I'm going to try and make some charms that I can attach to mini books - I'll let you know how I get on. I've been working on a little round mini book made with coasters - I've been using my new MME paris papers for it - they are absolutely gorgeous! I'm also trying to finish off a few felt projects - hopefully I'll have some pics to show you all soon!

We went to pontins the other weekend in Southport with my Mum and sister and we all had a fab time, we didn't make it to the beach because of the weather but we found plenty of other things to do.
Hello to any newbies and hugs to those that need them.

I've just remembered that I was going to post a link. Anyway - I had a little spend at this store - postage is free if you spend over £20. They sell a lot of docrafts products and are quite cheap compared to other stores. I bought a set of the xcut nesties for £7.99 - they're about £10 everywhere else, and the larger dies that are about £12 ish elsewhere are £10.49 here. I also bought some of anita's calendar tabs for 79p (normally 99p), some of the new anita's bell charms for 99p (£1.25 elsewhere), delivery takes about 5 days.

Hey Melissa, sounds like you've been pretty busy, can't believe Tilly is moving already! Cheers for the link, off to have a peek... ;)

Zoe, so sorry to hear about your mum, must be so hard. I agree with craftygranny, you need to block her out sometimes. It sounds harsh but necessary for your own sanity and your own life. I know it's not the same but my mum has suffered with anxiety and depression nearly my whole life and her mood and what she wanted to do dictated our family life. It's still a bit like that now but I have my own life and family and have learned not to let it all affect me too much. She still has a tendancy to pull me under sometimes. I do love her and would do almost anything for her but there are times when I don't like her :o

Mad frog - 2 envelopes being posted later today - DH's prepaid ones so I don't have to go to PO.!
At last I found the link - Not sure if this is the cheapest place but I've had nesties from this lady who was helpful even to counting the scallops on the dies to make sure I got the right set to match my plain ones. If you say you've seen it on ikki's blog you get free postage.

Good luck at the dentist Marg, I completely forgot the boys had an appointment yesterday afternoon, with all the excitement of my new fence being finished I forgot all about it, oops, need to phone and grovel :(

Mel, I have just had a spend at that shop, got some nice kraft bags and tags, jingle bells, calendar tabs, cardstock, all sorts of things. Prices are really good :)

Marg - good luck at the dentist!

Rainmac - the docrafts stuff seems really cheap on the site - I'm planning on buying some of the bags too - I've bought loads of body shop stuff and I was planning on putting them in bags and decorating the front for xmas pressies so these bags are perfect - of course I'll have to buy the tags too!
