Hey all well the Toad Stool for my DD's wall is complete and looking fab when I find my camera I will get a picture sorted.
Can some one point me in the right direction for card toppers, my DD will be 8 in 3 weeks and I need to make her a card. She is into fairies and bears right now so would prefer it around this theme.0 -

I have uploaded a card (umm actually three but I couldn't choose!!) to my blog for the challenge. I hope this is okay - feel free to ignore the ones you don't like lol!
Also thank you to those who have actually followed my blog - I promise to try and do my best not to bore you too much lol!0 -
Hey RainMac I still can not find my camera so it will have to be later. Had an ok Birthday yesterday mym decided that I needed party food was a bit like a 5 year olds party but the thought was there. Any way got up this morning to a phone call from mum which has put me in a bad mood. All my birthday cards have been removed from the shelf and its back to reality.
Basically my mother is mentally ill and hears voices, she has just moved into a new place with new staff so I was expecting this. Basically around birthdays my mum gets ill and usuall ruins the birthday. This time she has waited until the day after to phone me crying saying she aint well and all this crap. I am just so !!!!!!! fed up right now, things were going so right for me and she has to get like this again and if I sound like I am being nasty I appologise but there is only so much one can take0 -

aww zls i couldn't read and run. I really hope things pick up for you soon. I'm so sorry to hear about your mum. My oh suffers badly from depression and birthdays and things are just another day to him he doesn't remember them but strangely enough he always seems to be ill the day before the actual day and the day after . Doctor reckons it's just stress and they are trying to block it out cos they can't cope . Not much help though. Have a hug and forget about her as much as you can. I taught my kids to ignore him. harsh but necessary .Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20
New challenge finish birth sampler by end of the month
No matter how much life knocks you down, it's your ability to get back up, brush yourself off and face your next set of challenges that makes you stronger0 -
So sorry to hear your having a hard time ZLS. As craftygranny said in her post, the best way is to just ignore them as there is not much you can do really. My dad also suffers from depression and has for a few years now. He is handling it much better recently but still 'acts up' a bit around birthdays, holidays etc. Mental illness affects everyone around the person actually diagnosed, not just that one person. Having been the other side of depression myself in the past, I see it from both sides
Any mental illness never goes away, you just learn to cope with it better.
Was going to post the hug emoticon but it looks a bit strange! Have a (((hug))) instead0 -
