Morning all. I've been AWOL again and don't think I'll manage to catch up. I hope you'll forgive me. I'm trying to find time to catch up on blogs too but not having an awful lot of success.
OH had some disappointing news at his check up last week and it's kind of knocked us for six. His consultant found a new lump in his neck and his words were 'I'll be disappointed if your lymphoma has returned'. It's not quite a year since his bone marrow transplant - his one year anniversary is on Friday this week - so it's a real blow as he was only told a couple of months ago he can consider himself in remission.
Just in case he gets ill again and has to undergo more treatment, he's trying to finish off one of the outside jobs while the weather is dry. So for the last few days he's been painting the roughcasted garden walls to match the house to finish the garden off. I've been on sole puppy duty so that means two walks a day, both of which can last up to an hour as we go to the beach for her to run around. So bang goes any crafting time I might have. I've got one Christmas card I managed to finish off the other day which I'll try and find time to blog soon.
Not sure if I'll manage to make the birthday/1st anniverysary card OH is expecting. The hospital where he was treated give these patients an "official birthday" on the date of their transplant to signify a second chance of life and he said a couple of weeks ago that he wondered if he'd get any cards. I might have to resort to buying one if I can't get my act together .
Enough of my woes. I hope everyone is OK and that the poorlies are on the mend.
PONR I know you're due home very soon so I hope you have a good flight and don't suffer too much with jet lag when you're home.
ScattyJan Hope they get your heating installed quickly and that it doesn't turn too cold while you're without.
Gemm Well done on your win :T. I'll try to enter your challenge.
Must dash, Poppy is scratching at the door to get out to OH as she can see him painting. I'll take her out for a while. Must wrap up warm though as there's a VERY cold breeze here this morning.
Take care all, hugs all round.
Oh what worrying news for you. I hope that it turns out to be a 'safe' lump and that no further treatment is needed. When you have been through so much treatment you at least deserve that don't you. Keep your chin up and I'm crossing my fingers that it will all be ok for your OH.
Thanks for thinking of me and my flight home tomorrow when you have so much else on your mind. xxxxxxxx
Sending big hugs and positive thoughts to you and you OH xThe E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -
Myz . It never rains but it pours. Hope you don't end up too much out of pocket . Ialways put a postage cost in the box then just write collection in person welcome please pay cash on collection . Works out ok for me. Hugs to you sounds like you need them.
Ct . At least mine usually comes up on my legs so i can keep it out of sight. Downsde is it causes more mobility problems and last time it wouldn't go away and doc thought it might mean losing one or both legs but thanks to the tissue nurses they cured me within weeks of them taking over my care.
Louby i bought a couple the other day and i'll pop back later tonight for more. Good luck with it. It's very hard raising money for charities these days as lots of people seem to be finding things tough. I am quite lucky most of my family and friends will usually spare me the odd pound . My step dad has a collecting box for the ear trust and he even asks his milkman if he has any spare change for his box. Visitors are always asked by him if they can spare a couple of bob. He's getting quite good at parting people from their money. Wasn't funny when he told me it was 20p to use his loo and double if i wanted to use the toilet paper . lolCross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20
