Marg sorry to hear your news. I watched the football yesterday afternoon - why couldn't them nasty reds just back off em a bit - we were kind of shouting at the telly a bit here :o

OH has just arrived in Inverness to find his flight to Orkney tomorrow has been cancelled - said he saw trees hitting lorries and cones flying round like leaves on the way up - hope you all up there are ok - not too bad here now it's stopped raining.

Rusty - there's a link to my eBay stuff on my you know what and yes I do have some elzybells bear stamps for sale in case that's what you're after :D Will pm my name in a min.

Can't remember what I've read - DD's friend was off school today - she ate too many sweets and stuff on Sat when I took her out and hasn't been very well - how bad do I feel?

Ouch at the car bill rainmac! makes the straighteners look like pocket money - hope the plumber doesn't charge that much tomorrow - we have a leaky radiator which is coming through the dining room ceiling that OH tried to fix and made worse - I have an icecream tub and a care mat under it till he gets here :rotfl: I'm taking over the DIY now methinks

Off to cook some tea and maybe do some crafting this evening now I know the leaks contained and the ceiling isn't gonna drop on my head LOL!
Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended :p

  • So sorry to hear about the losses of Marg and dragonllew's sil. Hugs to you both.

Hope that those of you who are still (or newly) unwell start to feel better soon, and until you do, you are as painfree as you possibly can be

Thank you to CPS's husband for pulling my name out of the hat - only just sat down and read it so it's rounded off quite nicely, what hasn't been too bad a day after all.

    Now for the job news.

Original proposal - back in October, was to close the office and retain a small centre, providing a service to the public with the loss of about 280 jobs.

Outcome - retain a small centre, providing a service to the public. Also set up a Customer Contact Centre - retaining (and expanding) the existing customer service section (which had been centralised in Newport about 2 years ago) and providing 50% of the telephone handling for the organisation - this is where I currently work. Loss of about 150 jobs. All jobs will need to be applied for by existing staff.

So whilst there are still going to be job losses, and there is no guarantee of keeping a job, at least there are better odds of getting one. But for those who don't get jobs, there will be redundancy with nobody leaving before Jan 2012.

    CHALLENGE
So with that in mind I have decided the new challenge will be a "Good Luck" challenge.
  • Oh - and they gave us all the afternoon off, so I went to visit my mum and came home with books and rhubarb.
