Making cards - Ideas (part 5)

Hi ladies,
Hope you are all having a great day in this beautiful sunshine!
Wifey - Can i enter my Easter Egg card into your challenge please? Its the one that says 1st post.
PepPop i will pm you back in a mo.
I have been asked to do 3 Thank you for being God parents cards has anyone got any ideas for images. The mum is quite quirky so it can be anything really. Also she wants 2 for the people that are doing the food. So something party food and drink related? TIA
Also has anyone got a Kindle? I am thinking about getting my DD one for her birthday as she is a book worm! She is 11 and quite savy with electronics, so are they easy enough to use? Also do they have a backlight? The reason i ask is because i have seen cases with reading lights on them and was wondering if she would need one?
My sister has a kindle, although she's 33 not 11! The version she has doesn't have a back light on it, it's meant to make it 'authentic' as books don't have back lights! There is a way of putting books on the kindle without going through Amazon but it isn't exactly legal! its using a piece of software called calibre. It's a legal piece of software but it means you can put books on that you haven't purchased, hence illegal!
It can also be used for magazines etc to be read on it using this piece of software.
:cool:Life is like a box of chocolates..........you always seem to pick the hard ones!0 -
 Hello!
Lovely & sunny here again today so after a lovely day out on Friday it was laundry & gardening yesterday whilst DH was flying and more gardening today - he's busy chopping down some bushes that have died because of the extreme winter weather, then he's going to dig them outIt's weird that they are only just showing the effect of the frost.
Mary OP - so sorry to hear about Mr Mary - he's had a tough time lately hasn't he? Hope the orthopaedic boffins can help him. Awful of the first hospital to miss it
ali.b - Life just gets in the way sometimes doesn't it?
Kms - I've got a kindle and love it though I've not had much time to use it. Yes it's easy to use - even I can manage! Amazon do some free books, mostly classics eg 'Little Women' 'Black Beauty'. If your DD is going to read in the dark she will need a cover with a light as it looks like a book in use rather than a pc screen IYSWIM.
Need to make some lunch for the 'gardener' so he keeps going!0 -
Thanks ladies.0

Another sunny day today, just about to make orange juice lollies with DS2 and I suppose I need to start on the ironing, yawn yawn... x:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

Back from paintballing ended up sitting in the sun and my youngest who wasnt invited ended up doing it as well because somebody didnt turn up and they didnt let the mum know who had booked it -its so rude especially when its not cheap either. I gave her the money to pay for Tom even though she said I didnt need to I just felt bad for her because I know she had pushed the boat out for this party and Tom had a brilliant time - he loves anything guns/soldiers so as he said he may be small but he's stealth:rotfl:
rainmac - thank you for the heads up for the Cards for men challenge I've been and entered my card. err and step away from the keyboard!!;)
marg - yup - its seems to be everything happening at once or nothing at all.
not got a kindle but have got an app on my phone my son is reading treasure island and I asked if he liked it - yes because its a gadget but he said he does like the 'feel' of a book better??? (he's 11)0 -
