Quiet on here at the moment

Well as my computer has been poorly I went to look at 'cheap' computers today, made the fatal error of taking my OH with me, made my next fatal error by letting the salesman show us the apple computer, I am now the proud owner of a new computer :D  never ever will I go shopping with Oh again! Have spent the last few hours backing up and copying 5 years worth of photos, so at least this computer going poorly has taught me to back up photos when I upload them
Hopefully I will be able to catch up on blogs with a quicker pc, will wait and see if I can get it up and running tomorrow

Marg I am private dentist can't get into any NHS around here, if I don't pay for it then I guess I will lose my teeth, the treatment is for gum disease so it's not really something I can afford to not have done I just  at the price of it
Dragonllew I can't believe you only just received that card, I posted it over two weeks ago!

Fifi Trust me German glass glitter is something you HAVE to have ;)

Going to go on a stash ban with all my expenses, luckily I have already saved a few pennies for the NEC

Looks interesting but from what I can gather it only allows you to use the cartridges from Cricut and if I have understood SCAL right in that you have far more choices - is that right can anyone confirm this for me as I don't know much about SCAL.

I haven't even got my Cricut yet, it has made it as far as my mum's so hopefully will get in some time in the next week.

Having looked at the official Cricut stuff, my understanding is that the Gypsy is a portable design thingummy watsit, and you can download all available cartridges so youcan see the images that are on the cartridges and use them to prepare layouts, but you can't actually cut unless you have the cartridge itself.

The Cricut design studio seems to be a similar thing, which you need to purchase, but it's software that you keep on your pc, so therefore not as portable.

The new Cricut craftroom appears to be pretty muchthe same as the design studio, but free software.

The SCAL software, you need to purchase but utilises SVG files which you can download for free, or purchase, or designe yourself, or, convert jpg images into SVG images allowing you to cut them. You do need at least one cricut cartridge, which needs to be inserted into the cricut to fool it into thinking that you are using a cartridge to cut the image.

Of course, if you use the SVG files, the cricut has to be connected to a pc of some description.

Hope that helps somebody, but don't sue me if I'm not completely correct in my understanding of how it works.

    It does doesn't it

I've looked at your latest creations and both are lovely - I might have to go and buy a magazine. I have the stamps used in your boy image. I think they came from the "Help for Katie" collection

It's lovely to know that your grand-daughters had such a good time playing with crafty stuff.

    and

MELISSA - Have you packed your bag?

Well I survived the party yesterday. There was me thinking that it would be a civilised affair and that they'd be sat there quietly playing on the computer or watching a dvd when instead they ran around the house shooting each other with nerf guns! I was worried that I hadn't bought enough to eat and they hardly ate anything - I think they just wanted to play! They all seemed to have a good time and apparently were asking OH when they could come back!!!
It was great to see my Dad and brother too - I only get to see them every few months, they weren't bothered by the screaming kids but just sat and watched the football! Even Elliot was well behaved! OH has taken Leo to a Liverpool youth squad game today so I suppose I had better start cleaning up!!!

GeorgieGirl2012 - nope - its still not packed!!!!

That sounds good Artydoll. Is it the issue with the Mothers Day flower card on the front? I've just checked online and it says this is the current issue but there's no mention of a free CD just free papers.

The magazine I just looked at in the local newsagent (which I think was Papercraft Inspirations) had Dawn Bibby and Tim Holtz on the front and a free pair of scissors.

Addams - my card is there now - sorry for the delay - yesterday didn't go according to plan and I had a friend call this morning. :)

Melissa - glad your party was a success - the boys were probably so thrilled they didn't want to waste time eating.

We've got a Winner! Well Done it's a beautiful card!

It's sunny here so must get more laundry done.
