Making cards - Ideas (part 5)

OAP My only answer to that has to be... Live long and prosper (and yep I can do the finger thingy too
)
DUM! DUM! DUM! I've put a card on my glop!!! (Liking the DUM! DUM! DUM! in case you hadn't noticed :rotfl::rotfl:)
Cat update... I think we're gonna need to pay the vet a visit - I had a look at the tooth and it looks like it's broke off below the gum and I think she's feeling sorry for herself.
I can do the finger thingy too, but I'm not sure we are talking about the same finger thingy (I can do the star trek one too)
It's another day when I haven't read more than about the last 3 posts before the one I quoted. I shall make a cuppa and take the laptop to bed and go back and read through (the urge to respond to the finger was too great)
Just in case anybody is interested there are some thingummy wotsits, in that place floating in cyberspace.0 -
Peppop -thank you so much for that flowchart - I'm gonna use it as a desktop background now! I think I'll try making your light box next time I need to take photos too. I hope your cat is OK - maybe take her to the vets when you can afford it to get the broken tooth removed as they are a vulnerable site for infection. I inherited a stray with a broken tooth - 3 years later he had a big abscess and we spent £300 on 2 xrays and for the removal of 4 teeth (the infection had spread).
I didn't like the TSV cos I didn't like the stamps. However I did buy a set of ice stickles and a set of distress stickles - including postage thats about £45 on glitter glue - OMG. I knew they were bargains and I use stickles by the shedload nowadays but I still feel a little guilty...0 -
Well ladies I feel much better today - I'm just a bit tired! Wish me luck - tomorrow the bike bits are meant to be being delivered - I wonder what will turn up???
RebekahR - I can't believe that your m-i-l comes round and tidies your house - how cheeky - I would be fuming!!!!
Quiksave - thanks for the heads up about the Tim TSV - I've managed to tape a few of the shows but I haven't watched them yet, I'm afraid my tv is taken up with the baby tv channel all day.
Rusty - I'm sorry I meant to reply to you yesterday about the October Afternoon pads - I was going to look to see what range the papers had come from and it completely slipped my mind. I'll find out and be back!!! Congrats on winning the tickets!!! Yep I'll send Tilly down when she arrives - you can have Elliot too if you want!
Rainmac - sorry to hear that you had a bad night's sleep - hope DS feels better soon, and sorry to hear about your OH's colleague.
Artydoll - lovely cards!
Saveapenny - its great to hear from you!!! I can't believe that Harry is 2 already and that he has a sister!!!
Zoeisababe - welcome to the thread!
PepPop - sorry to hear about your poor cat!
Cardpaperscissors - lovely easel card - are the twisted ones hard to do???? Fab image.0 -
THANK YOU ladies your evenings banter has cheered me up I'm feeling very sorry for myself as we should be in sunny Tenerife, and our friends are texting me with news of who they've seen etc.
PepPop - I think your cat will probably be OK but you will probably have to watch that her weight doesn't go down. Our little cat has to be encouraged to eat and I'm considering liquidising her food to make it easier for her - my liquidiser is 30 years old and rarely used so will not be used for humans (before anyone goes yuk!)
Rainmac - sorry to hear about DS1 being poorly but liked your cloud's silver lining of an evening at home. Hope DH's colleague is OK it's a bit young for a stroke but may not be as bad as feared.
Padster - Harrogate is about 19/20th March Sat/Sunday haven't got calendar handy to be absolutely certain.0 -
Thanks guys. OH phoned the vet this morning and they said basically not to worry but they want to check her over because of her medical history to make sure she's fine. We got a cancellation for this afternoon. I'm hoping if they need to remove what left of her tooth it will be covered by pet insurance otherwise the stash ban is gonna be a really, really long one. I couldn't face her getting really ill again.:(0

Morning all ... you lot can talk!! :rotfl:
Peppop - hope that cat gets better soon
Melissa - Thanks, there is no hurry, I bought 3 sets of nesties last night so probably should save some of the money I earned!!
Flourgirl - DD hasn't used a pushchair for over a year, she prefers to walk, I wrapped it all up, and humphed it to the post office (it weighs 12.6kg) and they refused to take it  I had to phone the woman who won it and explain to her last night why I couldn't post it ... needless to say I managed to struggle to get it back in the car but it is still there now!!
Rainmac - hope you get your car and tooth sorted!
Anyone local to me want to come take the pushchair out my car and then go pick up DS from the train station? I can barely walk ... I am the worst I have been pain wise andcalled docs they aren't interested and I am to wait for a referral, which might I add was only typed up today so still needs to be signed, and faxed and then wait whilst I am allocated a space!! ... I can see me having the doctors out over the weekend, and if not then OH best see if he can bring some work home as I will need him here for school runs!! Times like this I wish I had more friends locally!!!
Will try and get back later on ... pain dependantRaising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Rusty - could you get someone like TNT to deliver the push chair? We use them at work for bulky stuff I believe their rates are pretty good (otherwise we wouldn't use them)0

Good afternoon ladies, I'm feeling a bit guilty today. I just came in here, told you about Tim Holtz and ran! :rotfl: I've just caught up and been amused by the aftermath though
I resisted the TSV myself though, I've already got some alcohol inks including the metallic mixture, inkpad and glossy card so I'll be trying that background technique. I liked some of the stamps (eg the flying birds) but not enough to spend nearly £40!
Thanks for the concern about my eyes. I just woke up one day not able to open one of them properly. It looked bruised as if I'd been for a round with Mike Tyson. A few days later the other one started. I've been to see various doctors and am now on masses of pills and creams. As I said they are considerably improved but not quite back to normal yet.
Marg, your blog candy parcel was put in the post yesterday and it should arrive in the next few days, PO willing!I don't want to make money, I just want to be wonderfulMarilyn Monroe0 -
Rusty - I am so gutted - I've just spent the last half an hour listing all the October Afternoon pads that are available and where you can get them from including prices and I've just lost it all!!! Anyway the gist of it was that the papers that I used on my card were from the weathervane collection, but they don't do a pad in those, they didn't bother producing the 8x8 pads for their earlier collections. I can cut a couple of my papers up and send you some 6x6 sheets to make cards with if you like - its no bother, some of the sheets I've got 2 of too. The cheapest place that I found online for the pads was here:
http://www.craft-emporium.co.uk/index.php?cPath=706
they've got a really good selection, plus the earlier pads are £6.99 and the recent releases are £7.99
http://www.craftie-charlie.co.uk/
here sells a few too but he's only got a couple plus they're £8.99
http://www.papermaze.co.uk/customer/home.php
they've got quite a lot, some are only £6.40 but the majority are out of stock.
http://www.sirstampalot.co.uk/rubber-stamps.php?cPath=2_12_426&osCsid=343f88b751eefab87c1901a84a4c87f8
these have got a couple including road map for £6.50
http://www.atripdownmemorylane.co.uk/catalog/index.php?manufacturers_id=132&sort=3a&filter_id=71
these have 2 for £7.95 each0 -
Okay - update on the bike from argos fiasco! The bike was delivered this morning - I opened the box to take the free accessories out that I was meant to get with the first one and surprise, surprise they weren't in there!!! I've phoned them yet again and they're meant to be ringing me back - I wont give up!!!!!0
