Lizalloa - just in case I don't get back on here (or I forget!) hope you have a fantastic time in Paris! I've never been. Look forward to you telling us all about it.

Savvybunny - Welcome! You've got another follower.

Wifey - Lol at your phone call:rotfl: - wonder if she was reading from a script - well, until the last bit!

flourgirl - sorry no Molly Blooms here either.

    rainmac - pm you next.

CraftyLouise - we haven't got a Range nearby - it's perhaps as well 'cos I always buy too much when I do go to one.

Domestic stuff calling out to be done here......

    Morning everyone

Liz I hope you have a fab time in Paris, its one of my favourite cities, the view from the Eiffel Tower is amazing on a clear day. Hope you don't have to cross the road much, the traffic is MAD!!!! lots of hooting and shouting lol

Not to worry about the Molly Blooms I just had a whim to do something different.

We have Willow for the weekend and everyone for dinner tomorrow, as its Rememberance Sunday I thought it would be nice to have a big family dinner and have a glass of wine to toast absent loved ones. We are making Snowman Soup today Willow wants to give one to everybody in the class along with a gingerbread tree so we have 16 kids and 2 teachers in her class, that should keep us busy.

All those on domestic duties today have fun!

CraftyLouise, well jell, we don't have a Range, though I went to the craft shop on Thursday and "things" fell into my basket ;)

Julie, I will try and do a card today for the challenge

Oooh what one do you go to?

    Flourgirl What a lovely idea.
  • And as it turns out I should have got some more double sided sticky tape! Oh well, will just have to go back to the Range lol! :rotfl:
  • Thanks PepPop, macma and craftylouise for helping with the name of the pens, I looked on amazon last night and am quite in awe with how many shades there are! How on earth am I going to choose some starter markers, they are all so pretty! Have decided that Santa may have to fill my stocking with pretty ribbons, embelishments and promarkers lol. Am I the only one who lives in hope this may happen ;)

Looking at your blogs (and you are all so very talented!) I have already fallen in love with some of your techniques but must learn to walk before I run with all these glitters etc.

I was wondering if any of you subscribe to any of the magazines? I was thinking that it may help me whilst starting out along with the freebies of course. Are the magazines worth subscribing to or would you pick and select issues? Are there ones that you would recommend? Sorry for all the questions :)

Paris sounds amazing, hope you have a great time lizalloa xx

Sounds like you bought some lovely items there craftylouise :)

Another question, sorry, I have seen you do a mse card challenge.. could anyone point me in the direction of where I could have a look please? I don't think I am likely to be able to put anything together for this one but I would love to have a look to see if I can get some inspiration for my first card x

Savvybunny2009 Personally I don't buy any magazines - i think that blogland is the best place to learn new techniques. There are lots of tutorials and if you google splitcoaststampers, papercraftplanet, ukscrappers, whiff of joy you'll get plenty of techniques to keep you going. I'm not sure if you need to become a member to look (I did but I can't remember if I needed to) but it doesn't cost anything. There are loads of sites out there and if you're unsure of anything or want to ask how to do something the lovely ladies on here are always willing to help or at the very least point you in the direction of someone who can. It's great fun, expensive, but great fun. It's amazing what you pick up as you go along and mostly by accident :D
  • Savvy, I subscribe to a few and managed to get some sets of promarkers as a subscription gift which is what started off my collection :)
The best magazine I get is Making Cards - you don't get a subs gift but you do get loads of free high quality papers & toppers in the magazine evey month which make up some gorgeous cards. They also give you step by step instructions on card designs to make with that months papers.
Cardmaking & Papercraft and Quick Cards Made Easy have great subs gifts and come with a freebie every month but sometimes the content is not all that useful.

There are a few others that I might pick up in the supermarket but that all depends on the free gift lol!

    Hope that helps!! :)

Evening ladies, ooh check me out two posts in 3 days - lol, getting a bit regular!!! Hope you are all well - Liz - enjoy Paris - lucky lady!!!
Savvybunny - ooh loving the baking on your blog - yum, hope you dont mind if I borrow a recipe or two - lol - I used to subscribe to cardmaking and papercraft and got a sizzix texture embosser (think thats its name) but its ran out now and I havent re subscribed, but that one was my favourite although I was easily swayed by whatever the free gift was ;-)

Desperately needing to order some card blanks - so off to peruse the Craftwork cards website - unless anyone can point me in a better (cheaper - cough) direction.

Have a nice night ladies xx
