Doh, just had a craft fail, I don't have much money so I've nicked some patterned papers from my mum that I can photocopy and use time and again so I thought I'd have a go... How many things can go wrong with one card?!

    1) Don't have a paper cutter so have to cut paper by hand, cue wonky lines and curves where I want it to be straight!

    2) I only have PVA glue here atm so stuck my (badly cut out) square down on my card, excess glue squeezes out the sides so I rub it off with a tissue and :O a corner of paper comes off with it

    3) After panicking I think ok, maybe I can make it look shabby and ripped chic, like I meant to do it, rub really hard on the other corners of the paper and nothing - glue has dried fast :/

    4) Alright, I can stick something over there, find metallic foil and cut to size... amazingly not as wonky as they're only 1.5 inch squares... Stick christmas trees on top :) Looking good!

    5) Find some cream card that's about 2 inches square, perfect for backing the metallic card, so stick it on with more PVA. Doesn't want to stick... so I held it down under a bowl to make it stay flat whilst it's drying

    6) Ten minutes later go back to christmas tree on metallic card on cream card pieces... oh sugar, they're all wonky AND now dried.

    7) Rip paper off card so I can re-use the thing, cry in the corner.

I class myself as a more advance crafter now .... but yep it happens to everyone, I threw away 3 cards yesterday, they were totally wrong and awful and I got in a proper strop! one even got ripped up into shreds!! they were supposed to be samples for my local craft shop!!

Just keep on trying :) ... oh and use only a small amount of PVA glue, I never used to use wet glue but now I do most of the time, I find it depends on the quality of the paper aswell ... flimsy papers is horrid!!

Artydoll - Good luck for your op tomorrow!!

I think some days it is just easier to give up and leave it ... but other days things go together so easily and fall into place :D
