1) Don't have a paper cutter so have to cut paper by hand, cue wonky lines and curves where I want it to be straight!
2) I only have PVA glue here atm so stuck my (badly cut out) square down on my card, excess glue squeezes out the sides so I rub it off with a tissue and :O a corner of paper comes off with it
3) After panicking I think ok, maybe I can make it look shabby and ripped chic, like I meant to do it, rub really hard on the other corners of the paper and nothing - glue has dried fast
4) Alright, I can stick something over there, find metallic foil and cut to size... amazingly not as wonky as they're only 1.5 inch squares... Stick christmas trees on topLooking good!
5) Find some cream card that's about 2 inches square, perfect for backing the metallic card, so stick it on with more PVA. Doesn't want to stick... so I held it down under a bowl to make it stay flat whilst it's drying
6) Ten minutes later go back to christmas tree on metallic card on cream card pieces... oh sugar, they're all wonky AND now dried.
7) Rip paper off card so I can re-use the thing, cry in the corner.
Like Rusty has said this happens to us all, I just made a birthday card, for someone on here actually and stuck something on upside down and totally ruined the card
I only ever stick card down now with Anita's tacky glue, it does not work well with paper however, DST is no longer my friend
Putting heavy items on things to make it stick is something I do too!!
Wonky cards are no longer if you stick with tacky glue, it lets you manoeuvre paper in place unlike sticky tape
I just shove loads of flowers on a card I have bodged no one the wiser lol
Keep at it we all have improved (a little) it's just finding the right style and tools that suit you in my opinion
Does anyone have an idiots guide as to how to post a photo on here? and I do mean an idiots guide, me and my SIL spent 3 hours yesterday trying to programme my central heating (it's an intelligent system don't you know :mad::o)
I have only had it 3 years so you can probably guess why it needs to be in simpleton terms0 -

Happy birthday Flourgirl!!!!!
I haven't made anything all week - am really suffering withdrawal symptoms but have had 3 workmen in the house all week and dining table is stuffed in the corner so I still have nowhere to sit - they keep apologising for the telly being in the middle of the room - I just want the table and space to get to my inside stash :rotfl::rotfl:
Did find out why my car was making a funny noise - had forgotten I had 3 lampshades in the boot so they were rattling and sliding aboutOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Louise - if it's still just the two of you tomorrow then you'll both get a wee prize and you can pick the challenge while Arty is recuperating0 -
Marg, the Beaver session went well thanks. It was a bit mad as it was the first session after half term but they seemed to enjoy themselves and made some beautiful chalk fireworks pictures:wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0
