I just got a new 0% card from tesco.Love collecting clubcard points so this is great for me.0% for 12 months on BT,0% on all tesco purchases for 12 months(only 3 months for other purchases though so I will have to be really careful to make sure I get full use of the 12 months at 0%)
There is a 2% fee for BT,s but I will phone to do the BT and ask if they will waive that(I have had better deals than advertised by some card companies in the past just by asking, often getting them to drop the BT fee or cap it),even if they don't its still a nice deal."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0 -
I'm doing really well at being a "credit card !!!!!!" and changing them everytime my 0% offer runs out. I've just been given a Lloyds Platinum card, which offers 0% on balance transfers for 9 months. However, the condition of getting the 9 months is that you spend a minimum of £100 as purchases on your card. If you don't do that, you only get 3 months 0%. The purchase 0% offer is only for 3 months, so at the end of that, I will start paying 13.9% on that £100. Now, I think that's a damn cheek, so I'm trying to think of a way to out-scam them and I had this idea. I just wondered whether people think this will work:
I get the card and spend the £100 on it before transferring the balance transfer onto the new card from my Tesco one.
I then transfer this £100 to another credit card I have that is still 0%.
I then transfer the balance from my Tesco card, still at 0% for 9 months.
Will this work?0 -

The card also offers many other features such as Free purchase protection, Free Extended Warranty, Free Travel Accident insurance up to £250,000 and Free Legal and Medical helpline. As you can see this card is worth using for day to day purchases. May not get cashback but extended warrany and purchase protection maks up for it.
Main 'unmentioned' problem with all card applications is that it is difficult, if not impossible, to find out in advance what is maximum 'limit' card company is prepared to offer.
Too often one is hoping to get say £6000 only to find limit has been set at £3000 - which card company then advises is maximum limit for new applications on their card etc. Hence wasted 'footprint' on your credit record - i.e. would not have applied for that card, if realised initial limit was so low, since others will give higher initial limit.
Was thinking about applying for this card - appreciate it if you would consider advising me what initial limit you were given. Many thanks.
best wishes

Hi all.
I was just wondering if you could tell me if there is any specific reason why the barclaycard balance transfer for it's flex rate card (0% for a year with a 2.5% fee) is not listed as a good one? Am I missing something?
Thanks0 -
whenever i try to obtain a good deal on a balance transfer, i find that to apply for a completely new card seems a better deal than to just go back to one i've already got that is clear. should i, therefore, cancel and close an account once i have transferred a balance from it, and just apply again as a new customer in say, 6-12 months time?:0

Hi. I read the article again yesterday to get the most up-to-date advice from you guys. I tried the HSBC online application today. I've completed everything, but when I get to the page where cardguard and payment protection options are offered, I tick no for both and can't continue to the confirm check and submit page! I don't want either of these extra charges - I have card protection already and have accounted for payment protection. Any advice? Is HSBC making this another term of the application? Sorry if there's something I missed in the small print. Grateful to hear from anyone else who made this application. A0

That could be quite risky as it will mean new credit checks for applying even though you have had an account with them before. Don't be surprised if you aren't accepted. However its still a possibilty you would be accepted just not a guarantee.0 -
